Tw: overthinking, yelling
not such a happy chapter :(Y: "What do you mean with you remember everything?"
"M-my past" Tears blurred my vision again. All the memories I was never able to remember before flooded through my mind giving me a headache. They were asking more questions, but I couldn't hear them. I clutched my head and squeezed my eyes shut.
N: "Y/n! What's up now?"
Y: "I think she has a headache"
N: "No shit, sherlock! But from what? The memories?"
Y: "I guess. Imagine you'd suddenly remember years full of memories at once and then not even good ones...
Can I hold her?"I felt being placed somewhere else and familiar arms wrapping around me securely. It got better and I managed to understand them say the last parts, but the memories didn't seem to stop.
How was I supposed to deal with that? Those memories had been locked out of my mind for years and almost everything I ever dreamed about were happy memories. All I could expect from the near future were even worse nightmares than the one I just had.
A bit later, the memories were done flowing through my head and my headache was fading away. When the ache was mostly gone, I removed my hands from my head and opened my eyes.
My vulnerability was still quite present and I didn't dare to look them in the eyes. I started fiddling with my sleeves to calm myself even more.
Dozens of scenarios of what could happen next flooded through my mind and I felt myself zoning out. I really hate my overthinking sometimes. In the background I registered talking, but I couldn't understand it. It didn't feel like it was directed at me anyways, so I just stayed in my thoughts.
Yelena's POV:
Y/n finally calmed down, but when I tried speaking to her, she didn't react. Instead she was staring off into distance slightly fiddling with her sleeves and her face was in a worried expression.
"Y/n? Hello? Can you hear me?"
I tried to talk to her, but she just wouldn't react.Nat got the hint and tried as well.
"What's up now?" she turned to me "She can't hear us, can she?""Probably not. How do we get her to hear us?"
N: "I'm not sure. Let me try something"
She took Y/n's wrists and slowly pried her hands away from each other. That made her stop fiddling with her sleeves, but she was still zoned out.
N: "She's pushing her hands towards herself. I'll hold them open, but could you try to get her to remove her gaze?"
"Sure thing!"
I started with putting my hand in front of her eyes (with a bit distance of course) and moved it up and down, so her eyes couldn't stay fixated on one thing.
That worked surprisingly well. She dropped her head and hands as well.
"Y/n, can you hear me now?"
She just nodded her head ever so slightly.
N: "What was that about?"
No response.
"Come on, talk to us. You know that we just want to help."
Y/n: "I-It's hard" she stuttered.
N: "Take all the time you need"
Y/n: "Could we maybe talk about this a different time?"
