ARC 2 : ACTIVE WEEK

OPENING

- Hmmmpf! You, a nobleman? Ram has never heard of anything so stupid. He just has to show off.

I thought telling the truth about my origins in my old world would guarantee the truth but, she's right to think I'm a clown.

- It is true that even if I show you a seal from beyond the great waterfall you would be absolutely right not to believe me. Forgive my insolence, Ram !

Puck chuckled, his feline form appearing next to Emilia.

- It seems you've met your match with Ram. She's a tough one, and she's not easily fooled.

Emilia nodded, a small pout playing on her lips.

- Yes, she's quite skeptical. But can you blame her? It's not everyday someone comes claiming to be a noble from beyond the waterfall.

- And I should be much more careful next time. Even if I tell the truth and I can here. Here this seal has no value except what this world has to give it.

- Indeed. I've seen my fair share of liars attempting to claim titles they don't deserve. Puck agreed, a sly gleam in his eyes.

Emilia, too, nodded in agreement.

- Puck's right. Honesty is the best policy, but some people simply choose not to believe it.

- Ram, do you know of a way to prove via magic whether I am a noble or not? It is much better than my words earlier.

Ram paused for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she considered the question. Finally, she spoke up.

- There are a few ways to prove your status magically, but the method would depend on your rank and which region you come from.

- And for those like me who come beyond the big waterfall ?

Ram's eyes widened slightly at this.

- Beyond the great waterfall, you say? Very well, that changes things a bit. Ram will need a strand of your hair to conduct the test properly.

He took out a pair of scissors created through this world's spelling and cut off some of her hair and handed it to her respectfully.

Ram took the strand of hair carefully, examining it closely.

- This should do.

With a wave of her hand, Ram chanted a chant under her breath, the air around her and Emilia's hair beginning to take on a faint glow. After a few moments, a faint aura enveloped the strands, and Ram examined it closely, analyzing the energy signatures.

After a few moments, she nodded her head.

- Hm. It appears your claim is credible. The magical aura surrounding you bears the mark of a noble's bloodline.

He bowed.

- Noble indeed but of the equivalent of a land or a village.

Puck's eyes widened in surprise, while Ram raised an eyebrow, intrigued.

- A land or a village, you say? Not many nobles hold such a low rank. May I ask you are from?

- If I often say that I come from beyond the great waterfall, it is a face of saying that I come from another world especially an island near the Beninese country in the Atlantic Ocean. Imagine that it is another dimension.

Both Puck and Ram's eyes widened in complete shock. It was not often that they encountered someone claiming to come from another dimension.

- Another dimension? Puck said, his voice filled with surprise. You're not joking, are you? Because that's quite a claim you're making.

- I swear on the name of the new family Irufurito. Besides, all 4 of us know that there is nothing beyond the great waterfall in this world.

Ram frowned, her gaze turning suspicious once more.

- Irufurito? A name Ram have never heard before.

Puck, however, remained contemplative.

- Another dimension... it's not impossible, considering how vast the world and the universe are.

- Emilia already knows it but this name is the one I decided to take but also to link Felt and Rom who are my sister and my father figure and Felt is the fifth candidate of the royal selection and lives with the Astrea.

Ram's eyes widened once more, her initial annoyance replaced with surprise at the mention of Felt and Rom.

- Wait, you're related to Felt? And Rom, the old man from the loot house?

- Puck and Emilia can testify to that. It's thanks to them that I'm alive.

- Yeah, it's true. Puck confirmed.

Emilia nodded, a soft smile on her face.

- Felt and Rom are very important people to Viu.

Ram nodded slowly.

- I see. This whole claim of being from another dimension seems less far-fetched now, knowing that Felt is involved.

Should I mention that I know Ram is the reincarnation of the oni god of this world? No, bad idea. I'll start humbly, and take it one step at a time. However, I decide to use my writing to completely hide Satella's scent, otherwise it'll get me into trouble. I don't want to cause trouble for anyone especially since apart from Rei, Felt, and Rom and after killing Elsa, apart from Emilia and Puck, I don't trust the inhabitants of this mansion or this world. So why did I tell the truth? To avoid them being suspicious of me.

- However, if my presence is required, I intend to stay at the manor until Margrave Roswaal returns. Everyone in the kingdom knows him, right ?

Ram's expression turned dark as she heard the mention of Roswaal's name, a look of distaste on her face.

- You're right. Everyone in the kingdom knows about the eccentric Roswaal L Mathers, head of the Mathers duchy.

So she still hates the latter.

- On that note, I'm going to learn a little more about the language of this world. Emilia, Puck, have a nice day! Ram, thank you for your indulgence towards my august presence.

Viu headed towards the library knowing where this place was via a map of the mansion that appeared after the words appeared.

Puck, who was perched on Emilia's shoulder, rolled his eyes at Viu as he departed for the library.

- That boy is certainly an oddball.

Ram, too, let out a sigh, her expression stoic once more.

- Strange, to say the least.

Emilia chuckled lightly.

- He's unique for sure, but that's what makes him endearing.

It's okay. For one problem day at least. However it's still surprising that my gate as well as my od are unusual. It's probably due to the fact that I already have writing and that my senses are already at their maximum. For the moment Puck and Ram just consider me eccentric; which is a good thing since I'm a noble maos it means that Ram will have a professional distance with everything while making sure to correct me at the slightest deviation.

- What a pain. The difficulty a man of faith is trust...
