Later at the Karsten mansion, Crusch, Wilhelm and Felix entered the district empty-handed, that is, if they had not visited the town and made purchases.
Crusch, Wilhelm, and Felix walked into the Karsten mansion in a rather gloomy mood. Felix was the first to express his frustration.
- That visit was a total waste of time, he grumbled, his dissatisfaction evident in his tone. He didn't even budge an inch.
Crusch, though frustrated, tried to maintain a calm demeanor.
- It's disappointing, but we can't force him, she reasoned. He has his reasons for declining our offer.
Felix, however, wasn't satisfied with that.
- Reasons? What reasons could be stronger than the offer of royalty? he exclaimed, his irritation showing.
Wilhelm, as usual, chimed in with his calm wisdom.
- It might be a matter of loyalty or principles, he suggested. He clearly has a strong bond with that district and its people.
Crusch nodded, considering Wilhelm's words.
- You might be right. We can't underestimate the loyalty one can have for a cause or a place. It's something to respect.
Felix, still grumbling, couldn't help but express his frustration.
- But still, to refuse such an offer! He's a noble after all. Doesn't he have any ambitions or goals?
Crusch shot Felix a sharp look.
- It's not our place to question his ambitions or goals, Felix, she rebuked. We can only respect his decision and find another way to achieve our objectives.
Felix begrudgingly fell quiet, though his dissatisfaction was still evident.
Wilhelm, sensing the tension, tried to change the subject.
- Let's focus on our next steps, he suggested. We have other options to consider.
Viu relaxed in his office before asking Allen snuggled up against him.
- What do you think of these three? Felix particularly sees that he is as careful as you.
Allen snickered at Viu's question and his assessment of Felix.
- Ah, that one. She said, her amusement evident. He does have a sharp eye. Careful and observant, but also quite prideful. He seems to have a bit of a superiority complex, if you ask me.
- Clearly. His behavior is unbecoming of a doctor. However, I won't say superiority complex. This type of complex is only verified when the victim believes in it, like Priscilla for example.
Allen chuckled, slightly amused.
- I suppose you have a point. Perhaps 'arrogance' may be a better term.
She then looked up at Viu, a smirk on her face.
- What about the other two? They were a bit more... level-headed.
- Especially Crusch. At his young age, well I'm 21 so hey, he's already able to keep a cool head. Wilhelm is a living legend that I really like except for one aspect. As for Felix, he is the weak link of the trio due to his strength and especially his attitude.
Allen nodded, agreeing with Viu's assessment.
- Crusch indeed has impressed me with her composure and maturity, she said. Wilhelm, though I don't know him personally, is a legend in his own right, and with good reason. And yes, Felix seems to be the weakest link. His attitude, especially, is a liability.
Two people knocked on the door. Viu happily placed Allen next to them and then cuddled them.
- My heros ! Congratulations to Iluso for the White title and Reali for the Black title!
They were white half-snake twins with blue eyes: Iluso had golden hair and Reali had silver hair.
- Minute, does that mean they are going to announce the creation of my seventh elemental and me with the title of Gray?
Iluso and Reali, having just received their titles, beamed with pride and excitement.
Iluso, the one with golden hair, nodded and answered Viu's question.
- Yes, that's right! The creation of the Gray title is indeed linked to the founding of the seventh magic element.
Reali, with his silver hair, added,
- It's a historic moment for sure. The Council surely has grand plans in store.
- Three people from the Irufurito district already have three titles out of seven. Felix has the title of Blue and I have in the camp ee Crusch. Roswaal has the title of Red, Yellow and Green and is the founder of Camp Emilia. We are slowly and surely starting to infiltrate.
Iluso and Reali chuckled, amused by the thought.
Iluso spoke first.
- Quite the stealthy endeavor you've got going on there.
Reali added with a smirk.
- Infiltrating the camps one by one, slowly but surely. It's a clever move, I'll give you that.
- You know me. Aside from Reinhard, my family, Emilia, and my district, I don't trust anyone.
Iluso and Reali nodded, understanding Viu's cautious nature.
- Always playing it safe, eh? I can't say I blame you. Trust is a rare thing in these times.
- Family and district, that's solid. As for Emilia, I trust she's been treating you well in her camp?
- Exactly. And I met him here in this district which was the old slums. Felt saved my life and took me in with Rom. I introduced them into my family. I adopt Meili and give hope to people who lived in poor conditions here. You and Allen know very well. I'm glad I got you out of there
Both Iluso and Reali smiled, knowing the story well.
Iluso said
- You've built quite a family there, my friend.
Reali agreed.
- And turning the old slums into a place of hope and belonging... that's no small feat. You've achieved great things.
- Much more than starting from the Camp Crusch project.
He turned to Allen.
- Don't be disappointed not to have the title of Red. Roswaal is one hell of a client and you are the second best fire mage in Lugnica.
Allen playfully rolled her eyes.
- Oh, I'm crushed, she replied sarcastically. Who knew not having a title could be so devastating?
She let out a small sigh.
- But in all seriousness, Roswaal, as infuriating as he may be, is indeed formidable. And I suppose being the second-best fire mage in Lugnica isn't so bad, now is it?
They laughed after that. Back home, he cuddled Meili.
- Dad is home! Did you have fun with Rom?
