Petelgeuse, a slender tall man with a pale face in black priest robes, grins wide.
- Welcome, fellow believers in love! Are you by any chance Pride? The seat of that sin archbishop is still empty. Or do you not have a copy of the gospel? Ah, right... I haven't introduced myself yet. In the witch cult, I am a sin archbishop representing sloth, Petelgeuse Romanee Conti-desu! Ah, my brain trembles, trembles, trembles~
Petelgeuse tilts his head unnaturally to the side and cackles like a maniac.
Julius and his companions faced off against Petelgeuse, his erratic behavior already a sign that dealing with him would be a challenging task. Julius listened to the archbishop's introduction with a stoic expression, keeping a level head despite the unnerving nature of Petelgeuse's mannerisms.
As they prepared to engage with Petelgeuse, the sin archbishop chuckled with a crazed grin on his face, tilting his head in a disconcerting fashion, almost as if he was trying to twist his own head off.
- Ah, ah, it seems we have ourselves a little gathering! How delightful, how truly delightful! I see, I see, I see, I see! Are you, perhaps... A proud knight?
Julius remained composed, his expression undisturbed by Petelgeuse's eccentric behavior. He acknowledged the archbishop's question with a curt nod.
- Indeed, I am a knight, he stated simply, not delving into any specifics about his identity or affiliations.
With a crazed grin etched upon his face, Petelgeuse leaned in closer, the unhinged glint in his eyes growing even more intense.
- Ah, ah, a knight, a knight, you are a knight! How amusing, how utterly amusing!
Petelgeuse began cackling, his shoulders trembling with uncontrollable laughter, his words laced with a hint of mockery.
- Oh, oh, oh, a haughty knight, you are! It seems you're truly one of the proudest, most arrogant, of beings~
Petelgeuse's laughter continued to fill the air, echoing off the surroundings, his maniacal amusement only increasing as he addressed Julius once more.
- But tell me, oh so proud knight, what brings you here, strutting about, as if you own the place? Hmm? What is it that you seek? Fame? Fortune? Or… Something far more sinister, perhaps?
Julius, undeterred by Petelgeuse's words, maintained his stoic composition. He didn't rise to the archbishop's taunts, recognizing the manipulative tactics being used to provoke him. He simply responded, his voice calm and steady.
- I seek the same thing all knights strive for, he stated. Justice, order, and the protection of those who cannot defend themselves.
Petelgeuse chuckled softly, as if amused by Julius's words, his eyes flickering with a hint of condescension.
- Ah, how noble, how noble indeed, how utterly noble.
Petelgeuse took a few slow, deliberate steps towards Julius, his head tilted at an unsettling angle, the shadows cast by his robes deepening the eerie atmosphere
- Justice, order, protection... Admirable ideals, truly admirable. But tell me, oh so altruistic knight, do you really think that you can achieve such lofty goals, all on your own?
Julius puts Petelgeuse's gaze continuously, his eyes unflinching. He understood that the archbishop was attempting to sow doubt and discord.
- No, I do not pretend to possess the power to accomplish these goals alone, Julius replied calmly. My strength lies not in isolation, but in the unity and cooperation of those who share these ideals. Together, we are stronger.
