Harry waited exactly an hour before freaking out and obsessively floo-calling Bill Weasley's house asking for Fleur, despite the fact that it was midnight. The exhausted Weasley gave Harry a strange look, but was thankfully too tired to care why the brunette desperately wanted to speak to his wife. He told Harry that Fleur was at a business meeting that suddenly turned into a three-day business trip. Harry's heart sank. He wasn't sure whether a longer stay at the Home of the Veela was good or bad news, but he certainly didn't feel like sitting around for three days without any updates about Draco's condition.
"Do you know if she's a healer of some sort? A healer of veelas?" the brunette asked before Bill could hang up. He must've looked or sounded panicked, because the redhead's expression softened and he smiled at Harry.
"I remember her saying something about volunteering to help sick veelas, but that's all I know. Harry, you know you're like a younger brother to me, right? If you want to talk about anything..."
As Bill trailed off, Harry realized how confusing the situation must be for the older Weasley. Harry had only told Ron and Hermione about his relationship with Draco and that the blonde was a veela. The rest of the family were blissfully unaware.
"I'm...involved with a veela that she's treating," the brunette said slowly, then winced at the pity he saw in Bill's eyes.
"Oh, Harry. She told me about the kind of cases she sees. I'm so sorry. If there's anything I can-"
"There's nothing you can do, because there's nothing you need to do, because he's going to be fine! She-she would've given me a hint or something if he wasn't coming back out."
Harry's voice shook as he said the last sentence, the reality of the situation crashing on him. He didn't even say goodbye to Draco. The blonde was unaware of his own illness when he left with Fleur. He might come out depressed and suicidal...or he might not come out at all. The last time he saw the blonde could have truly been the last time, and it was all because he said something thoughtless as a clueless 11-year-old. The brunette felt tears running down his cheeks.
"Harry-" he heard Bill say softly, but he didn't want to listen anymore.
"I have to go," he said quickly before hanging up. Bill would understand; he won't get mad at Harry. The brunette was positive that he'd forgive the brunette after Harry tells him the story, but the brunette would never really forgive himself if Draco doesn't come out of the Home of the Veela. Harry tried to picture the golden gates and park again, but nothing came into his mind. It seemed only a veela could apparate there. The brunette could do nothing but wait for news as his Draco was probably being tortured in there without the reassurances of his mate.
The brunette returned to work the next day, determined not to wallow around Malfoy Manor waiting for any kind of update. Emmyl was there; the elf would tell Harry if Fleur called or sent a letter. In the meantime, the brunette wallowed around his office, sitting behind Draco's desk and looking through it, smiling at every one of Harry's stolen items that the brunette came across in the blonde's desk. He wondered if Draco would still continue to take his things after he was cured; he found it kind of cute.
Harry didn't really do anything at work that day, or the next day, or the one after that. He was too busy thinking about all the wonderful dates he and Draco had had in the office before the blonde got sick. It kept it happy for a few seconds, then made him sad for a few more. He didn't bother to ask Robards to put him back in the field. He was too distracted all the time to do anything, even listen to Ron and Hermione when they came into his office at random intervals just to tell him some joke or story or ask him how he was. His answer was always the same.
