The brunette ran up to their bedroom and burst through the door to find Draco lying on his side on the bed under a couple of blankets. Emmyl was standing at the side of the bed talking to him, but stopped when he saw Harry.
"He woke up and went looking for you. I think he fell down the stairs or something because there was a gash on his head. I healed him, but he hasn't moved in hours," the elf said quietly, not moving from his position beside Draco. Harry instantly joined him there, kneeling down so his face would be on the same level as the blonde's. Draco didn't even seem to notice his presence, though, his eyes looking right through Harry.
"Why didn't you call me?" the brunette asked Emmyl a bit too harshly. The elf instantly went into self-defense mode.
"I couldn't leave him when he was like this. How was I supposed to contact you? Why weren't you back earlier?" the elf hissed back, narrowing his eyes. Harry sighed.
"I'm sorry. I-I just don't know what to do. I didn't mean to blame yo-" the brunette started, but was cut off by Draco's shaky voice.
"Why did you do it?"
Both Harry and Emmyl turned to look at the blonde, whose eyes were on his mate.
"Why did you drug me just so you can spend time with another man?" the blonde asked again, quietly , his tone flat and his eyes dull.
"It-it isn't like that. You know Ron. He's been my friend for ages. I only gave you the potion to calm down. You looked ready to chew his head off," the brunette said, trying to excuse his behavior, though, on the inside, he felt guilty for even considering keeping Draco drugged until they found a cure.
"He called you his mate! You're not his mate. You're mine...unless you don't want to be, anymore," the blonde said, then closed his eyes and moved so he was laying on his back, "Perhaps you should tell me and put us out of our misery."
Harry looked at the still, pale, almost corpse-like body that now held the veela and what was left of Draco's soul. There was no other explanation, no other excuse, nothing else he could say to get Draco to be happy again for a little while. It had only been a day since they got a diagnosis, and, somehow, the blonde only got worse every passing second. The words were out of his mouth before he even realized he was saying anything.
"You're very sick, okay? I didn't want to tell you because it seemed like I had already found a cure at this Home of the Veela place, but I don't know how to get there. I'm not cheating on you. I don't want anyone else. I just want to make sure you're alright. I don't ever want to be apart from you, Draco."
The blonde opened his eyes and stared into Harry's for a moment before nodding and sitting up on the bed. He patted the spot next to him. The brunette hesitantly sat there, still waiting for Draco's reaction. The blonde smiled at him before speaking softly.
"You worry too much, my love. I told you a million times that I don't feel sick, but, if it will convince you, we can go to the Home of the Veela."
Harry's eyes widened as he heard Draco's words.
"Y-you know where it is?"
The blonde nodded.
Is it really that simple?
Harry bit his lip. This is what he had wanted. He should tell the blonde to take them there immediately, but...the veelas that came back from there were so miserable. The brunette couldn't just go in blind. Should he call Draco's healer again and ask if he knew anything about it? No. That man was pretty useless. Hermione didn't know anything that Harry didn't, either. There was no one to ask.
