Few weeks earlier before the UESC settlement was established...
When the UESC and the machine ground forces arrived on Remnant, outside the Gate, one of the United Earth troopers began to notice something peculiar.
UESC Trooper: Sarge, over here!
UESC Sergeant: What is it, private?
The Sergeant, along with a group of UESC soldiers and marines have found a graveyard on both sides of the Gate. Not a cemetery graveyard, but a GRAVEYARD graveyard.
There is a destroyed WWII Tiger tank, along with a German half-track and twelve dead Wehrmacht troops. Lying next to them, are eight dead Vietnam War era US troops and an abandoned Patton tank.
Last but not least is the shocking part. Not just to them but to you readers as well.
They also found a destroyed Mi-24 Hind along with seven dead unknown combatants.

The dead combatants almost look like mercenaries, bandits or insurgents except for the patches that they have on their shoulders.

UESC Soldier 1: Holy shit
UESC Soldier 2: (Scottish accent)How da hell is that possible?!
UESC Soldier 3: Look! That's the German Wehrmacht troops from WWII!
UESC Marine 1: (American accent) And US marines, except they must be from the Vietnam War.
UESC marine 2: (English accent) Bloody hell...
UESC Marine 3: (Russian) Святой ад, they're Stalkers.
UESC Soldier 4: (Japanese) Nani?
UESC Marine 3: (Russian) STALKER. It stands for Scavengers, Trepassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers and Robbers. They're the inhabitants of the Chernobyl Zone. It looks like they've been dead for long time.
Suddenly, a former Techpriest showed up a among the UESC troops.
Techpriest: Ahhh, a relic. *picks up a device with his metallic hands and begins to scan it*

UESC Sergeant: What do you mean relic?
Techpriest: That's no ordinary device. That is a Personal Device Assistant (PDA). 2012 Edition. This relic is known to have help Stalkers keep track of their objectives, messages, Navigation, information, etc.
UESC Soldier: 2012?!
UESC Marine: That was 201 years ago!
UESC Sergeant: Any idea on how they've gotten here?
Techpriest: Unknown. It's a possibility that they've found this Gate as well. Other then that, there's a 87.69% chance that there might be more of them throughout the planet.
UESC Sergeant: I see. We're gonna have to call it in then.
The Sergeant radios command, letting them know what they found on both sides of the Gate. Few minutes later, they began to bury the dead, and then gather the abandoned/destroyed vehicles. Either they scrapped it for resources or reinvent them.
The Techpriest that found the PDA, also found four more. Each device has been scanned, analyzed, and/or hacked. According to his findings, he found the recordings, written logs, and notes about the Zone of Chernobyl. It turns out Chernobyl is not like the Chernobyl in their homeworld, especially before Earth became United together.
