Back at the hub, Jack scanned a transparent mapped board with a green laser.

"So what's this supposed to do?" Nightingale asked.

"I'm using satellite tracking data to determine the inward trajectory of the meteorite," Jack replied.

"He means he's..." Toshiko started to explain.

"Trying to find out where it's come from," Nightingale nodded, she shrugged at Toshiko's shocked glance. "Sometimes a little technobabble is good for the soul,"

"Gas traces confirmed as Vorax and Suranium," Tosh reported.

"Great. My two favorite gases." Jack said sarcastically, "Can we check and find out what we know about them?"

"I'm all over it," Owen said.

"What's this doing?" Nightingale asked as she looked over a computer screen.

"I've taken an image of the girl from the CCTV footage. This cross-checks her face with the UK population," Toshiko explained.

"Damn." Owen said as he looked at the screen, "A hundred and nineteen suspects? This thing's supposed to give us a single clear match,"

"The CCTV was too low res. I've tried magnifying and augmenting, but it just breaks up. Which means the software can't function properly,"

"It's narrowed the numbers down. I could check through the rest. You know, the old-fashioned way. With my eyes," Ianto claimed.

"The CCTV must have picked up her arrival at the club. Tosh, can you reformat the image recognition software to trace her journey backward via the street camera network?" Jack asked.

"I'll have a go, but processing'll take a while. Every possible turn on every street corner means hundreds and thousands of probabilities," Toshiko replied.

"Have a go. At least we'll know where started the evening,"

"I might be able to speed up the process," Nightingale suggested.

Jack looked over at Nightingale. "You sure?"

"Just give me a sample of the meteorite, and I'll see what I can manage,"
