I was just about to get out of the car when I realised her phone is in the middle console I grab it, wondering what to do with it, so I turn on my car again and head to her workplace, but first I make a call to my boss.
"Hey boss." I tell him as soon as he answers
"Hello Jackson."
"Sir, I know I have to be at the workplace right now, but there's an emergency that occurred, but don't worry I'll be back as soon as I can, I'm sorry again." I tell him, worried sick what he'll say
"I completely understand, you take all the time off, even if you need the day off I completely understand." He reassures me. God am I thankful that I have such a great boss.
"Thanks so much boss, I appreciate it."
"of course, no worries." As soon as he says that, I hang up the phone and continue driving my way to Millie's workplace.
After a few minutes, I walked through the doors and looked around for Millie, but couldn't find her in sight, so I walked to the reception and asked.
"Hello." I say.
"Hello sir." The kind lady answers, looking up.
"I'm looking for Millie, have you seen her?" I ask.
"No sorry sir I haven't seen her." She replies.
"Oh okay, thanks." I tell her, about to turn around.
"Although." she says.
"Yes?" I say, turning my attention back to her.
"Nancy might know." she tells me, looking back down.
"Nancy? who's Nancy?" I ask confusion filling my head.
"I'll call her if you want." she tells me.
"Yes please." I reply. She grabs the phone and dials a number.
"UGHHH I JUST WENT ON MY LUNCH BREAK!" a voice from behind the wall appears.
"Nancy its not even lunch time, besides there's this guy looking for you." She tells her while looking up at me. I give her a smile.
"Oh me?" the voice from behind the wall comes out, then the girl I'm assuming is Nancy looks me up and down then bites her lips.
"hey, I'm looking for Millie have you seen her?" I ask. forcing a smile on my face.
"Oh Millie, you want Her not me." she sighs, looking at the receptionist.
"But no I haven't seen Millie today." she shrugs
"Did I hear the name Millie?!" A mans voice is talking.
"NOW DIDNT I TELL THE ENTIRE DEPARTMENT I DON'T WANNA HEAR THAT NAME, SINCE I FIRED HER." He yells, I'm assuming he is boss, A rude one.
"YOU DID WHAT DAD?!" Nancy yells back, looking surprised.
"I did what I had to do."
I head out of the building. And to my surprise I found Millie sitting on a bench outside she had tears streaming down her face, I felt my heart shatter at the sight of her, so I walked over to her and sat beside her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. I noticed her shoulders shuddered as I gently place my hand on her shoulder, and I felt my heart shatter even further. I don't even say a single word because I don't know what to say, but eventually I say something because you know she'll wonder how I came, how I found her, and why I came here in the first place.
"umm I wanted......to give your phone back." I tell her
"thanks." She sniffles. I nod my head slightly, taking her phone out of my pocket and handing it to her.
