Chapter 15 Jackson

I am sitting on the couch in the living room and I look at Madison coming out of the kitchen.

"oi who was that?"

"oh that was just some girl asking about the gym"

"It was Millie, hey I'm you're only cousin you should tell me." I look at Madison nervous.

"why do you think it was Millie?" I  am trying to keep my cool so she doesn't figure it out.

"because I know when you talk to your girlfriend." I let out a sigh and know there's no point in lying to her.

"yeah it was Mills."

"and what personal stuff are you going through that makes you distant??"

"its nothing too serious."  I look at her with exhaustion in my eyes tired of this conversations  already.

"ugh look I just don't want talk about me and Millie and what we talked about alright. its not a big deal so just drop it." I sit back and run my fingers through my hair.

 "Fine then I'll leave." Madison crosses her hands. I feel a little bad now for yelling at her.

"wait madds don't go."

she smiles, "so tell me what's going on?" I think about it knowing I will probably regret telling her all this.

"alright alright ill tell you but you have to promise me you wont get mad." I look at her seriously

"promise." I breathe in and out deeply looking for the right words

"I feel like if we talk about what we are, she won't like getting serious to the next level." 

"how about, like I said before you should talk it out."  I roll my eyes at her trying to drop the subject.

"I don't think that'll help trust me."

"I have an idea, call her." I look at her dumbfounded by her suggestion

"absolutely not. why would I call her?"

"CALL.HER.NOW!"

I gulp seeing the stern look in her eyes and how she's not gonna take no for an answer. I hesitantly pick up my phone and tap on Millie's name and call her.

 "Hello." 

"hey Mills" I try and put on my best calm tone but I don't know why I'm so nervous and my heart is racing.

"yes?"

Madison grabs the phone from my grip, I try to grab it back but she snatches it too fast.

"hey! give me the phone" 

"no." I give you a look seeing you put on your bossy attitude. 

"seriously madds give it back." I reach my hand out for her to give the phone back to me.

"hey, Millie right? I'm Jacksons cousin, Listen I know you have plans with your brother for 9 days. How about me and Jackson come with you for one of the days."  

"sure, come on Tuesday, it'll be at my house." A voice from the phone appears.

I stand there staring at her with my mouth hanging open as I listen in on her conversation with Millie and them planning the trip. 

Madison hangs up "see, told you." I look at her dumbfounded still in shock from her talking to Millie on the phone and making those plans.

"I cant believe you just did that. I meant for me to have a conversation with her not you just making plans with her without my consent" 

"one it'll be fun and two you guys will be able talk."

"fine, but if things get weird because of you I will murder you"

"you can try."

its Tuesday and I wake up a little earlier than normal since we are going over to Millie's houseI get up and take a quick shower before getting dressed in casual summer clothes.

"good morning to my favourite cousin."  I laugh and look at her walking into the kitchen

"don't think you can flatter me after what you did on the phone with Millie."

"god why are you still hang up on that." I laugh seeing her roll your eyes. 

"because you just made plans that I did not agree to with my girlfriend on my behalf." 

"you're still going aren't you???" I sigh and look at her pretending to be irritated.

"yeah we're still going I don't really have a choice now do I."

"you don't have to." I look at her surprised by her comment.

"what do you mean? You already planned us going there"

"I'll go myself, besides she lives across you."

I look at her for a moment thinking about the idea.

"are you sure? I don't want you going by yourself"

"then come with me." I let out a sigh knowing I cant say no to her.

"fine I'll go with you"

 "OKAY IM READY!" I roll my eyes at how excited she is.

"okay let me grab my keys and lets go" 

"what keys?? she lives across from you." I facepalm myself. 

"oh right I forgot that. come on then"

I walk out with her and start walking across the street towards Millie's house. I knock on Millie's door. 

"Hey babe!" She tells me and hugs me.,  I hug her tight.

"hey babe can I talk to you for a second?" 

"this is Madison right?? you're cousin?"  

"yeah my cousin." I say as the hug each other.  

"Babe come help me in the kitchen, Madison you can go in and sit with my brother in the living room." I  walk with her to the kitchen. 

"you said you want to talk??" I lean against the counter in front of her.

"I... uh..."  I take a deep breath.

"I think we should break up..." She drops the plate she's holding.

"I uh I didn't mean to" She runs out of the kitchen to the bathroom, I follow her and reach the bathroom and knock on the door.

"Millie? can I just explain?"  She comes out of the bathroom and sniffles. 

"yes??" I take her hands and look into her eyes

"I still love you... but I just think that we both  and are too different..."  I sigh.

"okay." I take a deep breath and pull her into a hug. 

"I'm sorry... I still love you but I didn't think we could stay together like this... I feel like I'm limiting you...."
