Its Millie's birthday today and I woke up early in the morning, trying to not wake her up. I was determined to make this the best day ever for her even though I know deep down I don't deserve her for breaking up with her . I had a few things planned after work but I have to go to work first I'm gonna kill myself for that. I got ready quickly and gave Millie a quick kiss on the forehead before heading out. I look at her while she's turning sides she looks so cute and adorable while she's sleeping.

I barley focused at work today because of the things I have preoccupied with the things I have planned today. The whole day I'm constantly checking my phone and watch, anxious to know how she's spending her birthday. By the time work is over I'm basically rushing  out of my office, ignoring all my  co-workers who try to talk to me as I make my way to my car. The moment I enter my car I waste no time and start driving back to my apartment. During the car ride my heart is racing, not just because I'm excited to see her reaction to the things I have prepared for her but also because I'm nervous. I know I hurt her and I don't deserve her there's probably a part of her that doesn't want me.  I'm scared.

I park the car in the parking lot and step out before heading towards the apartment. I run my hand through my head as I enter the elevator. The closer I get the more nervous I become, my heartbeat picking up as I get closer to the door. I take a deep breath before inserting the key and slowly opening the door to the apartment.  Once I step into the apartment I am a bit confused since I don't see Millie right away and it worries me. I step fully inside and take my shoes off before heading into the bedroom.

"baby?" Suddenly I find a note laying on the bedside table, when I read the note I could feel my stomach drop. I have no idea where she is, when she left. I let out a shaky breath looking at the clock knowing I'll have to wait an hour for her to come back.

----------

I was sitting on the couch, watching tv, waiting for Millie to come back. When I hear a knock I practically jump off the couch and ripping the door open.

"hey." A wave of relief washed over me, when I see her standing in front of me. I immediately  step closer and reach out a pull her against me, wrapping my arms tightly around her.

"baby, where did you go...? I didn't know where you were."

"I went out with Nancy, you know Nance, you met her at the company." I nod as she tells me, I can't help but be jealous even though I know she is a girl, but that still counts, I mean she's spending time with her instead of me.

"something wrong??" I stay silent for a few seconds as I decide whether or not I should tell her or keep quiet. I take a deep breath before mumbling my answer.

"nothings wrong."

"are we having lunch or???" I completely forgot about lunch, my mind has been too occupied with the birthday, so I hadn't considered lunch.

"uhm... do you want to go get lunch? are you hungry now?"

"yeah we can wait."  I sit down on the couch, scrolling on my phone. I find myself listening on their conversation. I furrow my brows when I hear you mention my name. I wonder what their talking about. I discreetly try to eavesdrop on their conversation. Suddenly she puts her phone on speaker. I hear him mention my name again and my heart rate increases.

I look up as she enters the living room. I look over to her as she sits down, trying to keep my expression calm even though I'm far from being calm.

"so.... your brother called?"

"mhm."

"any special reason why he called."

 "wishing me a happy birthday."
