Chapter 27 Jackson

I follow Millie into her apartment and start helping her pack up her belongings. I pack everything carefully and neatly. 

"Where do you want me to put these boxes? Should i load them into the car for you now, or wait until we finish packing?" I ask. 

"Just put them over there for now." I nod and place them by the door. 

"Hey, how are you holding up, babe? This must be really hard for you."

"I need to figure out where I could stay." I nod in agreement, I want to do everything I can to make sure she's safe. 

"You know you can always stay with me, right? I have plenty of extra room in my place."

"so like? move in with you?" I nod. 

"Yeah, move in with me. It makes sense, right? You need a place to stay, and i have more than enough room at my place. Plus, we'd get to see each other more often."

"Like live with you?" I chuckle, she looks so adorable when she's surprised.

"Yeah, babe. Live with me. Why do you sound so surprised?"

"forever??" I nod again. 

"Yeah, forever. Why? Are you having second thoughts already? Not sure you could stand living with me 24/7?"

"Omg yes!" I let out a laugh as she suddenly jumps and hugs me. I wrap my arms around her and hold her close.

"See? I knew you couldn't resist the idea of living with me. You just need your regular dose of my awesomeness, right babe?"

"yes" I chuckle and squeeze her tighter.

"Aww, look at you, all clingy and cute. I guess you can't stand the thought of not seeing me every day, huh?"

As we continue packing, I can't help but notice that we make a good team. me and her. together. 

"We're making good progress, babe. I think we'll be done soon."

"yeah." I notice her yawn. She looks tired and drained.

"Babe, you look exhausted. Why don't you take a break and rest for a bit? I can finish up packing the rest of your things."

"no."

I watch as she gets a energy drink from the kitchen.

"Babe, you should really get some rest. You look like you're about to pass out. An energy drink won't help much."

"no, trust me it does, Miles and I do it all the time." I raise my eyebrows at the mention of Miles, I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy at the thought of them staying up together.

"You and Miles stay up all night together? Just you guys, drinking energy drinks together?"

"yeah. we used to do it when we were kids, so we still do it."

"Huh, so it's like a childhood tradition for you guys? I guess that's kinda cute."

"when we used to run away from father and his annoying voice."

"Yeah, I can imagine running away from him. He sounds like a real piece of work. But it's nice that you guys had each other to lean on during that time."

"yeah."

"Hey, if you ever want to talk about your dad or anything, just know i'm here for you, alright?"

"yeah, thanks."

"Of course. You don't have to go through anything alone, alright? I'm always here for you, no matter what."
