My week is filled with plans, of course even though I'd rather stay home and read, I love having Miles here. I pulled out my phone to see my list of places we have to visit within these 9 days.

Today: Festival

Saturday: Waterpark(that will definitely be fun)

Sunday: Road trip

Monday: Movies

Tuesday: game night

Wednesday: bowling

Thursday: Arcade

Friday: The beach

Saturday: Rage room (saved the best for last)

I read the list while Miles was driving.

"Wow, you've really got our schedule packed," he remarked with a grin.

"It's all for you." I smile. Miles chuckled, reaching over to playfully ruffle my hair.

"You're too sweet, you know that?" he teased.

"I know." I giggle. He chuckled again, watching me with amusement.

"Seriously, you've really planned out everything perfectly," he said, shaking his head. "I don't know how you do it." I smile, He gazes at me with a absurd expression, his eyes lingering on my smile.

"You know, you have a beautiful smile," he says softly. "I could look at it all day."

"you are the best brother." Miles smiles warmly at my compliment, his eyes sparkling with affection.

"And you're the best sister," he replies, ruffling my hair again. "I don't know what I'd do without you." I'm gonna cry, what did I ever do to deserve him.

"stop." I smile. He grins, continuing to mess up my hair.

"What, is my baby sister embarrassed?" he teases. I hate when he says that.

"I'm only two years younger." I pout.

"Which makes you my baby sister," he retorts. "And no amount of pouting or protesting will change that fact." He chuckles.

"the girl we met, Madison was sweet, she's visiting Jackson." Miles raises an eyebrow.

"Oh, really? That's nice," he says, trying to sound casual. "So she's visiting Jackson, huh? Do you know her well?"

"no, I only met her today, I don't know how she relates to Jackson." Miles nods, still seeming nonchalant but secretly curious.

"Huh, interesting. I wonder how she knows Jackson."

"what's up with you??" He flinches at my sudden question, caught off guard.

"What do you mean? Nothing's up with me." He tries to play it cool, but I can tell something is on his mind.

"no there's something you are not telling me." He sighs, realizing he's been caught.

"Okay, fine, there is something I need to tell you," he admits, running a hand through his hair.

"yes???" I'm filled with curiosity. He takes a deep breath, looking a little nervous.

"It's... it's about Jackson."

my expression turns serious, "what about him?"  Miles hesitates for a moment.

"Well... there's something I think you should know about him."

"Miles what is it?" He looks down, fiddling with his fingers.

"I don't know how to explain it," he says slowly. "But... he's been acting strangely lately."

"oh." Miles nods, still avoiding my gaze.

"Yeah. I mean, he's still the same old Jackson, but he's just been... off. Distant, distracted. Like he's hiding something."

"I'm gonna call him" Miles looks up, surprise flickering across his face.

"You're going to call him? Now?"

"Yes unless, you are pulling a prank." He holds up his hands in protest, chuckling.

"No, no, I'm not pulling a prank. Trust me, I wouldn't joke about something like this. I'm just surprised you want to call him so suddenly."

I pulled my phone out of my pocket nervousness hits me, I dial Jacksons' number. The phone rings for a few moments before Jackson picks up, his voice slightly raspy on the other end of the line.

"Hello?"

"Jackson I need you to be honest."

"Um, okay. What is it? Is everything all right?"

"Why have you been acting distant lately??" There's a pause on the other end of the line as Jackson struggles to find an answer. When he speaks again, his voice is carefully measured.

"I'm sorry if I've seemed distant lately. It's just... I've had a lot on my mind, that's all."

"Like??" Jackson hesitates.

"Just... personal stuff. Nothing you need to worry about, I've got it handled."

"fine." Jackson sighs, sensing my reluctance to accept his vague answer.

"Look, I'm sorry if I've been distant. It's just... there are some things I'm dealing with that I'd rather not talk about right now. Can you trust me on that?"

"okay."

"Thank you. I promise it's nothing major, just... personal stuff. I'll try to be more present, I'm sorry for worrying you."
