The cold air bites at my nose and ears. I draw the sleeves of my sweatshirt past my hands and shove them in my pocket.
"The moon looks lovely tonight, doesn't it?" A voice beside me asks. I don't even have to turn to see who it is. I just roll my eyes and continue to look over the balcony. "Come on, you stick in the mud. You can't deny it."
"Jasper, shut up." I sigh at him. I came out here to be alone.
"You're freezing, aren't you?" He chuckles. I ignore him again.
"I do believe I told you to shut up." I shoot back at him, glancing his way. That was a mistake. Every time I look at this idiot, my brain shuts down and he knows it.
"Carmen, just come back inside. You know you're going to get sick. Besides, Oscar has been looking for you." He huffs and leans against the railing.
I just groan in response. "Oscar can go fuck himself." I mutter.
"That's not a very nice thing to say about your boyfriend." Jasper laughs.
"He's not my boyfriend." I groan. "One date does not a relationship make."
"He seems to think so." Jasper laughs, though there's a hint of something there. Something that feels like he's hurting.
"Which is why he can go fuck himself." I snap back at him. "I'll make you a deal." I say, turning to him.
"Oh?" Jasper raises an eyebrow.
"Yep. I'll go inside." I smirk. "If you hide me from him. If you fail..." I dramatically inhale. "You have to kiss..." I ponder. "Which would be worse? Me or him?"
"Definitely him. He's worse." Jasper says laughing.
"Alright. If you fail to hide me from Oscar, you have to kiss him. On the lips. For at least five seconds." I smirk, holding out my hand.
He thinks for a second, then takes my hand. "Alright. Deal."
We turn around and head inside, almost immediately running into Oscar. I look at Jasper, grinning because of our deal. Though, to my surprise, he's not upset.
"Hey, Oscar." He greets the shorter boy before grabbing his face with his hands.
"W-what's going on?" Oscar asks, slightly panicked.
"This." Jasper says, as he pulls Oscar's face closer to his. Their lips meet and Oscar immediately melts into Jasper's arms. His own hands winding up to grasp Jasper's hair. Jasper groans, as he moves his hands to Oscar's waist.
Their kiss gets deeper and hungrier. Until finally, they have to pull away to breathe.
"Oh my god." Oscar whispers, his hands still on Jasper's shoulders.
Jasper chuckles. "Thanks, Babe. Wanna come with me?"
Oscar nods fervently. "Please."
I watch the two of them leave, hand in hand. "What the hell just happened?" I murmur to myself.
"You know Jasper's had his eye on Oscar for a while, right?" I hear my sister Ana's voice next to me.
"No, I didn't." I pout at her.
"Probably because you've just been looking at Jasper. You should really pay attention to who your bestie is looking at." Ana laughs. "It's okay, Sweetie." She says, seeing my point. "You'll find someone."
I just huff and roll my eyes. "Can we go home now?" I storm toward the door, not even waiting for her response. I stomp all the way outside to her car.
"My, my. What an attitude on you!" A deep voice chuckles a few cars over.
