A/N: I don't typically do these, but I wanted to put a TW ahead of time. Ryland's POV ends with some intense torture. If you want to skip over that, I'll put some indicators (-- --) for that section with a quick summary.
Please enjoy!
Ryland's POV
"Where the fuck is Liam?!" I shout as I storm through the castle.
"We're not sure, My Lord." One of the many cowards trembles as he bows to me.
"What do you mean, you're not sure? How long has he been gone?!" I shout.
"Three months, My Lord." He shakes in fear.
I can't contain the rage in my veins. I slam the coward against the wall, holding his neck tightly. "You waited three months to tell me that my most trusted man has been missing?" I hiss in his ear.
"I-I-I-" He tries to stammer a reply, but I'm not in the mood. I simply snap his head from his body.
"Someone clean this up and find Liam. NOW!" I roar at the trembling idiots around the room.
"M-my L-lord?" A soft voice calls my attention.
I look to my right and see a small boy, turned around his teens. "What." I snap at him, looking away.
"Th-there ha-has been s-some mo-movement i-in the S-siren K-kingdom a-area." He stammers.
"What do you mean?" I look at his scared face.
"Th-the s-scouts reported th-that th-they s-saw s-someone l-leaving. Th-they s-said i-it l-looked l-like J-Jackson." He stammers out, ducking his head.
"Jackson, huh?" I rub my chin. "Why is he there? That's interesting. Where was he heading?"
"To th-the s-south, M-my L-lord." The boy stammers.
"That would be the Dwarven Kingdom..." I hum. What are you planning, Jackson? "Thanks for the report. You may go now."
"Y-yes, M-my L-lord." He stutters, the bows before making a beeline out of the room.
I sit on my throne and tap my fingers on the armrest. He's paying a visit to the Dwarves. And staying with the Sirens. What is he up to? I get lost in thought, and don't notice time passing until there's a loud commotion that rings throughout the castle.
I immediately bolt up and make my way through the castle to find the source of the noise. There doesn't seem to be anything broken or damaged. I don't see anyone until I get to the foyer.
There, I see standing as bold as the mid-day sun, that infant Jackson. He's standing alone.
"What are you doing here?" I sneer at him.
"It's Liberation Day, Ryland." He grins.
"Liberation Day?" I frown. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Did you see anyone on your way down here, from your precious throne?" His stupid grin grows.
But he's right. I didn't see anyone. "What are you playing at?" I cross my arms.
He nods to the right, and suddenly my wrists are bound in tight shackles that pull my arms down toward the ground. I pull, but I can't break free.
"Elven Magic." He grins. "You won't be able to break out." He slowly walks closer.
Then more chains appear around my ankles and pull my legs apart. I groan, trying to fight it. "What the fuck do you want, Jackson? The fact that you had to involve others, proves how much weaker you are than me."
