Joe Jacobs was locking the door of his cherry red Corvette parked across from his vegan restaurant Cafe J when his sky blue eyes behind his sunshades saw the sign in the window of the old pizza restaurant on the opposite side of the street.
" What the fuck? ," he said crisply as he read the words " Coming Soon Richard and Nigel's, A Healthy Eating Cafe , Owned By Richard and Nigel Norland".
Joe cussed. He didn't like this. Competition was not his friend. It never had been.

Sol : Is everyone ok at your place? It was all over the news last night? I can't believe your family got caught up in a shootout.
Luci: Yeah. I don't want to talk about it. It's kinda a weird mood here today. Uncle D is still sleeping. Uncle Spencer is with him in their room. Granny Glory is resting her ankle. Poppy Andrew is out buying her a new phone because they couldn't find hers at the hospital. Theodore is quiet. He's playing his violin a lot.
Sol : Least he play nice. So. That dance. You didn't want to go. Did you?
Luci: I am going. Alan asked me to it.
Sol : Huh ?
Sol : Oh. Ok. That's nice. I guess.

Sol : So you like music and stuff right? Singing and all ?
Theodore: Yes. Why?
Sol : Just asking. I guess you dance too ?
Theodore: I took ballet lessons and ballroom lessons in California. Yes. So I can dance. Why?
Sol : I can't dance. At all. Not even that fancy stuff.
Theodore: Oh.
Sol : I kinda wanna ask Luci to the dance but I can't dance. I don't wanna embarrass myself. You know. Not that it matters anymore. She's going with Alan now.
Theodore: She's going with Alan? Really?
Sol : Yeah. Look. You can say no but I want to go and impress her. Because you know. Can you teach me how to dance ?
Theodore: Sure. Why not?
