( " Just leave me alone. ")
Spencer sat in his brother's guest room. Alone by the window. Just sitting with his hands over his face.
" It was just a matter of time," he heard someone say from behind him. He lifted up his head and slowly turned his chair around to look at the person talking to him.
It was his mother. Doris in all her elegant cold perfection , every golden blonde hair in place , her blue eyes glittering at him coldly.
" I knew that person was all wrong for you ," she said with a regal tilt to her head. " He's not like us. It's why I tried to remove him from your life. But yes it was just a matter of time before you ran him away. Turned him against you. You can not possibly love him or anyone, Spencer. And nobody could ever love you. " Then she laughed.
Spencer shook his head. " Fuck you, Mother. Just go back to your fucking mansion and leave me the hell alone. "
Doris smiled with a chilling edge to her lips. " You will die alone, Spencer. Nobody loves you. Not that person you call a husband. Not your brother. Not Luci. Not Theodore. Not anyone. Not even Andrew. "
" Shut up! ," he yelled as he closed his eyes tightly.
" Spencer. Are you alright? ," he heard as he fought to maintain his control.
His breathing was ragged. His heart was pounding fast. In his mind he kept hearing his mother laughing coldly and saying over and over again that he would be alone forever.
" Spencer," Richard asked as he kneeled beside the chair. " Spencer? Talk to me. Are you ok? "
Spencer slowly opened his eyes and saw his brother looking back at him with concern in his grey eyes. He ..... He actually looked like he cared about him.
Richard touched his brother on his face gently. " Are you ok? What's wrong? "
Spencer whispered," Please don't make me leave. Please don't leave me. Please. "
Richard sucked in a sudden breath and exhaled it rapidly. Then he pulled his younger brother to his body for a tight hug. " I'm not making you leave. You don't have to leave. You can stay here as long as you want or need. I'll never leave you. You're my brother. " His hand stroked Spencer's wavy blond hair softly. " I love you. You've been through a lot this year. The shooting. Skip Sands. Yesterday. It's ok. "
" I love you," Spencer cried in his brother's arms. " I love DuBuis. I miss him. I knew....."
