Chapter 14

The next day me & nagi were on the system training room, we were training for hours just scoring points & helping me get better on the field. Nagi was already good but i think he was focusing more on getting me better while also doing a few goals himself too.

"Come on yuki, number 50"

"Yea"

I kicked the ball around for a bit then tried to get past him, with a slight roulette. But nagi saw it countering ti & blocked it, kicking over uner my feet & stealing the ball which made me trip & fall to the ground.

"Saw right through you"

"Mmmm........"

He put his feet over the ball & held it as he glanced over to me.

"Barou's weapon are his middle shot, which has unrivaled precision with 27 meters of the goal's left side, neccessary for getting into shooting position & the physical charging power.... right?"

"Yea...."

"You gotta move you're legs & feet faster yuki & be more flexible, you can't be holding up the ball for to long otherwise they'll steal it"

"I don't have bachira's speed though, at least not that fast......"

"Mmm...... well you do if you moved faster then you're mind does. Don't think just act, only think & process the situation if things get rough on the field oh but don't get reckless either, being reckless out of desperation will just screw you over, i don't mind that we're matched agaisnt those 2 but do you have a plan? there's hardly any time before the match now."

"To be honest i won't know until we play them"

"Well it's true that there are a lot fewer players than a normal match, that's why 1 on 1 performance is crucial"

"Right, i think i just need to fight barou with all i got... to find a way of defeating him."

"That's a major gamble & if you use you're monster it will end up worse, if we want to survive then we need to score 5 goals & defeat barou. By discovering the power to fight 1 on 1, anyways the basic plan is that i'll cover barou & you can take asashi"

"Yea, Alright"

Crushing barou & asashi will give me the evolution i need to advance to the next stage, if i fail here then that means that's the extent of my worth. Nagi offered his hand & took it as he help me stand up again while holding the ball with his other free hand.

"Again but.... faster & harder"

He put his hand under my thigh for a moment raising up a little then placed the ball on the palm of his hand with the other, it startled me for a second when he did that.

"Kick it harder with this one & try doing a direct shot on the ball with it, also.... make you're body more flexible try doing manevuers around like bachira does it or me.... you've seen how i move right? try doing that 'Jumping' can help with that, put more force into you're kicks you're kinda holding you're strength back agaisnt me."

He put my leg  back down then pointed to the other one with his hand.

"Switch to the other if you get stuck or blocked, there's 2 directions you can go in not just 1 or.... 3.... if you count under or inbetween the legs."

Nagi tried to explain to me further how to move & maneuver myself around with the ball, he held it with both hands & placed it infront of me.

"With that ball of course... kick, jump & flex yourself to some extent. Don't want you to hurt yourself because you flexed a little to much & pull another muscle strain, don't get desperate either. I know i told you to not think & just act, but if you see something that's difficult take a second to think & then make you're move. I'm in the field with you too so don't forget to pass to me when you need to"

"There's.... one i saw you do on the field the other day & bachira might of given me an idea of a move i can do too"

"I do alot of moves on the field, which one was it?"

"The one you used when you took the ball from reo & scored the goal with"

"Mmm.... oh my jumping trap shot? you wanna copy that? that's one hell of a flexible move for you to do though.... i can pull it off because it's my specialty"

"Ah... Right i guess i can't then... let's try other moves then. Let me try using my direct shot on you again nagi"

Nagi stayed quiet for a moment & brought his hand up a bit & wiped his face from the sweat with it, resting the ball over his weist with his other free hand. He tilt his head to the side a little thinking of what i just asked him, when i tried to take the ball from him he shifted his body to the other side a little & prevented me from taking the ball from his weist & glared at me.

"............ I didn't say no to teaching you how to do that though, you can even try bachira's roulette move but..... are you.... flexible enough to pull it off? & you need speed for roulette so...."

"I.... don't know but i can try...."

"Okay then i'll teach you mines, you can't copy the trap part since that's mine, but you can do the kicking & jumping part. After all copying you're opponents move & making it better & stronger in you're own stlye is part of playing soccer too, i did that when you guys tried to do that special move agaisnt us which wasn't hard for me to do thanks to my trapping, you're..... gonna have to twist you're body around a little bit along with you're leg to pull that off like i did though so i hope you're ready, just..... careful when you do it."

I got surprised when he said that, but he seemed willingly to try & teach me. I do remember the last time that nagi fought agaisnt us & he did copy 1 of our strategy & scored a goal himself, so i understood what he ment by that. Nagi then dropped the ball into his thigh then down to his feet again.

"Okay let's start, i'll do it & you just do what i do but..-"

"Yea not the trapping part i know just the flexability, jumping & the kick itself"

"Right oh & do another direct shot at me too, gotta work on those as well. But remember... more force into you're kicks don't hold back you're strength & no monster either, this is a training for you not him. You gotta learn to score goals without him & improve you're whole body & weapon. Don't be afraid to go all out on me"

"He comes out on his own though"

"Ah..... then.... we'll.... deal with it... somehow... i'll... think of something to do...."

Even nagi didn't exacty know how to do that since he can't see the monster like bachira, but i admire his determination to try & help me.

"But let's start, we don't have much time left before the match starts so let's be quick. Or i mean..... don't rush it because i don't want you to fail doing it either but just...-"

"Yea i get it nagi no worries"

With that being said nagi started showing me how to pull off the move i asked him about, it was hard & tricky because i'm not that flexible like he is but i was able to perform it. Now for bachira's roulette i had to just picture the move in my head & do it, nagi saw him do it but he can't perform it because his specialty is trapping but even so he helped me with it. We also did alot of direct shots to which most nagi was able to block, but the majority of it i was able to pass through it because i did put alot of strength into my kicks, i was improving little by little thanks to his help. By the time we finished training the match had begun & we had to leave to meet with barou & asashi on the field, i was kind of nervou but determined to win. Nagi reassured me to stay calm & stay focused by placing his hand on my shoulder & making me face him for a second before turning his gaze back to garou & asashi. He streched his body & warmed up for a second.

"Let's have a good match king, i hope you practiced kneeling"

"You're dead, i'm gonna make you my servant"

I got the ball & glared at asashi.

"Asashi"

"Hm?"

"I'm going all out, you better do the same"

"Obvi!"

The whistle blew louding indicating us to start the game, i quickly kicked & passed the ball over to nagi to which he received & caught. Barou guarded & blocked nagi who tried to get past him with some dribbling & dashing but he saw it coming.

"What's with that dribbling? you're intervals & timing are garbage, don't forge that you're up agaisnt me, you don't have enough respect."

Barou quickly stole the ball from nagi & headed towards me.

"Yuki!!"

"...!!!"

Damn he managed to get past nagi & asashi is moving up too, but i can't move yet barou is still outside the range of his middle shot. But he caught me by surprised when he suddenly kicked the ball from 29 meters to the goal & scored himself 1 point, so barou is also evolving in blue lock. Just like us. 

"This is bad yuki.... he extended his shooting range"

"Yea....."

The game resume & i got the ball next, i have no choice but to find the strength to fight one-on-one in the heat of this match. So now asashi was blocking me even if his not barou if i can get past him 1 on 1 i'll even up this match. But he moved in whichever direction i went, he was staying right on me, i can't even get past him with dribbling. I thought about passing with one of those crazy passes nagi likes so much, but i don't have the technique for a pass like that. Asashi is blocking off my passing course & if the pass is sloppy barou will just steal it, damn i gotta think & we're only just starting. Suddenly nagi screams at me & gets my attention.

"Pass it yuki! just give it to me!!"

"Nagi!?"

"Pass it to an open area!!"

Open area? in that case i quickly kicked it over to the other side of the field.

"Where are you aiming loser? you can't get around me with a shitty pass like that"

"I know king but instead of that...."

Nagi suddenly just ran in the direction of the ball.

"I finally thought of.... a way to defeat you"

Nagi suddenly caught up to the ball & kicked it towards him a bit changing it's direction, then kicking ot upward again with the back of his heel. The kicking it once more & scoring a goal giving us 1 point, i honestly got surprised at how insanely fast nagi was evolving. 

"We can beat them yuki the rest.... is up to you"

With that one play nagi has already perfectly grasped the formula that lets him win 1 on 1

"I won't lose... if i receive a pass from behind me"

"You bastard... i'll crush you"

"Yep!"

The game restarts & now barou has the ball & went towards us.

"Come on yuki!! we'll catch him in a pincer!!"

"What about covering asashi?"

"It's okay, barou is a king & since he just got beat. He's not about to pass"

Nagi suddenly shoved him making him stumble slightly.

"Got it!"

"Barou i'm open!"

"Shut it pipsqueak i'm-"

But before he could finish i assisted nagi with barou & stole the ball back from him.

"Nice one yuki!! pass it!!"

"Not on my watch!!"

Nagi's weapon is trapping if his receiving passes from behind him, then since nagi has his back to the goal. The deffense will stay close to keep him from turning around, but he can use that agaisnt them & use an unpredictable kick to dodge. That's nagi's attack strategy, but now they're guarding agaisnt it. So they'll leave some distance between him & defense like asashi is doing, i glanced over to nagi & he seemed to understand what i wanted to do which made him react when he saw me look at him & he moved. Since there's less pressure on nagi from the deffense his free to face forward & make whatever kind of play he wants & since the pass will stay on the same trajectory i can give him a pass as strong as if i was shooting, just like we did on that training together & let him use a different trap then before. A black hole trap, i quickly kicked & pass the ball over to nagi with intense force not holding back & he quickly jumped & received it when i did. Since asashi gave him space he doesn't have time to block the shot, this is nagi's power the creator trap that breaths life into the ball & the black hole trap that nullifies it. Now that his able to use those kinds of traps, nagi's goal formula has been perfected. He scored us another goal putting us at 1-2 i couldn't help but exhale softly & smile when he did.

"Okay just 3 more points yuki"

"Right!!"
