- John's POV:

I took Seraphina dress shopping earlier and we got all suited up for the event. I put my best cologne and Seraphina did her best makeup she could.

When we arrived, people were looking at us in awe although not for the reasons you think.

I had just claimed the title of Knight and no one knew Sera and I were dating so it was surprising to see two Royals coming to the dance together as a couple.

"Hey, you two made it!" Blyke greeted me.

"Oh, hey Blyke." Sera smiled.

"I'm here with Remi." Blyke gestured to Remi, who was getting some snacks for herself.

"Nice! Is the others here too?" I ask.

"Isen is with some girl and Arlo is here too." Blyke answered. "Oh and by the way, I heard that you've claimed the title as Knight! So you're a Royal again?"

"Yep, although just for a little while. Sera and I will revoke our titles when we feel the time is right." I explain.

"Well, have fun you two. I'm gonna head back with Remi." Blyke gestured.

I held Sera's hand and I shyly walk her to the dance floor. A really nice song was playing and we got into position.

As we slowly danced, I looked at Seraphina's eyes and realized how beautiful she was. I felt very lucky to be with her and I remembered our days at Wellston High, how I didn't realize that whole time I had a crush on her.

We continued to dance while a couple songs played, then a song played that was completely not romantic which signaled us to take a short break.

"I'm thirsty, you?" I ask Sera, she nods and we decide to get ourselves a drink.

I poured Sera and I a cup and I've noticed Emerson standing by us talking to his date.

He notices and makes a good expression. "Hey guys!" He waves at me.

"Oh, hello." I smile back. Seraphina greets Em as well.

"I've heard the news, you dethroned Mitchell." He pats my shoulder, despite the fact I was slightly taller than him. "Congratulations."

"Thanks, it wasn't that hard actually...." I say.

"Are you two....together?" He asks.

"Yes, John is my boyfriend, he has been." Seraphina answers as she takes a sip.

"Two Royals dating, how fucking awesome." Emerson smiles. "I want you to meet Belladonna, she's my date for tonight."

"H-hello." A shy redhead wearing glasses greets us, she looked sweet and I wondered why I didn't see her before.

"Hello." I say in a friendly tone.

"Well, I wonder how you managed to pull the King of Wellston." Seraphina makes a light comment.

Belladonna blushes a bit and freezes, I noticed she seemed to have similar shy, introverted qualities Em has although he hides them alot better.

"Well she seemed more genuine than some other gals around here so that's why I picked her." Em says softly. He seemed uncomfortable for some reason although I couldn't determine why.

"Well, I'm going to leave you two and go back out there with Sera." I say to them. "See you later guys."

As Seraphina and I stepped back onto the dance floor, the atmosphere had shifted. The lights dimmed, casting a soft glow that seemed to wrap around us, isolating us in our own little world. The DJ had put on a slow, haunting melody that seemed to resonate with the rhythm of our hearts.

We moved together, not just in sync, but as if we were one entity, the space between us charged with an electric current that only we could feel. I could sense the eyes of the other students on us, their whispers becoming a distant murmur as I focused solely on the girl in my arms.

"You know," Seraphina whispered, her voice barely above the music, "I never thought we'd be here like this."

I smiled, my grip on her tightening ever so slightly. "Life is full of surprises," I replied.

Just then, the song transitioned into something more upbeat, and the crowd cheered. Seraphina laughed, a sound that cut through the noise and went straight to my heart. We joined in the laughter, spinning and stepping to the lively tune, our previous elegance replaced by joyful abandon.

As the song ended, we found ourselves near the balcony, the cool night air beckoning us. We stepped out, welcomed by the tranquility and the brilliant tapestry of stars above us.

"It's beautiful out here," she said, leaning on the railing.

"It is," I agreed, "but not as beautiful as you."

She blushed, a smile playing on her lips. "You're not so bad yourself, Knight."

We stood there for a moment, lost in each other's eyes, the noise of the party a world away. It was a perfect night, and as I leaned in, our lips met in a kiss that sealed our bond, a promise of the future we would build together.

And in that moment, I knew. No matter what titles we held or gave up, no matter where life took us, we would always have this night, this dance, this love. We were John and Seraphina, and that was all that mattered.
