Chapter 8

I was walking through the hospital,  I went in the waiting room to see Nash. He walked up to me with anger in his eyes and suddenly raised his fist, punching me in the stomach. I gasped, surprised by his actions and clenched my stomach in pain. I suddenly started coughing badly.

"Na-Nash st-op" I tried to say through my coughs.

"No, I never liked you. Stacy and I were playing you the whole time."  he said through fits of laughter.

"You're so stupid!" he continued as he raised his hand and slapped me in the face.

He then grabbed my neck and applied pressure until I couldn't breathe.

I tried to talk but I couldn't.

My vision was blurry and then Nash kicked me in the stomach.

then everything went black and I was dead.

I woke up in the hospital bed, breathing heavily realizing it was just a dream. I let out a sigh of relief and wiped the few tears that had managed to escape my eyes. 

"Honey, are you okay?" my mom says looking at me nervously, getting ready to call the doctor.

"I'm fine." I say weakly.

"You have more visitors." she says trying to make me smile.

"Ok, send them in" I say with a sigh.

Amanda came in again and I realized how much I missed her.

She sat on the end of my hospital bed and we talked about everything going on at school.

We talked for a few more minutes and then she had to leave.

Then Nash came in and my eyes widened in anger.

"Hey I know you don't want to see me right now, but I just wanted to say -"

" Nash please, I don't want to deal with this right now. I just got diagnosed with lung cancer and now I have to deal with you." I say, cutting him off.

" Makayla, please listen. The day we got in that accident was the best day of my life. It was because I met you. Ever since that day we kissed I couldn't stop thinking about you." He says desperately.

"But you and Stacy made out! On our fourth anniversary may I add! Nash I don't know if you realized but it broke my heart to see you with someone else. Nash, I love you!" I say happy and sad at the same time.

"I love you too Makayla. All that happened between Stacy and I was that I was tutoring her and then she kissed me. I didn't kiss back and pushed her off me right when it happened, you just caught me at the wrong moment! I felt nothing at all, but when we kiss I feel everything. Please Makayla, forgive me." He says out of breath.

I take a look at him and notice the tears getting ready to escape his eyes. I feel bad for him and realize I didn't let him have a chance to explain himself before. "I'm sorry Nash for jumping right to conclusions, just promise me that I won't have to go through seeing that ever again!" I say to him.

"I promise" he said all cute which made me smile.

he was in the room with me for 2 more hours and then my mom came in smiling.

"I have great news!" she said smiling

"What is it?" Nash and I say in unison.

"Well, the doctor said that the surgery you had a couple days ago went really well and in a few days we can leave!" she was so happy she was about to cry.

"Thats amazing!" Nash and I say in unison once again which causes us to laugh.

"I love you so much Makayla!" He says, pulling me into a hug.

"I love you too Nash." I reply, pulling him closer.
