A smile that hides the heartache, a laugh that conceals the pain
A brave face worn to mask, the struggles that remain
A silent battle waged, against the doubts and fears
A war to find the strength, to dry the hidden tears
The world sees only the surface, the mask that I wear
But beneath the façade, a different story lingers there
A struggle to find my voice, to speak my truth aloud
A fight to break the chains, that bind me to the crowd
I long to shed the disguise, to let my true self shine
To embrace my vulnerability, and let my heart be mine
To find the courage to be me, without the need to pretend
To live authentically, and let my true self transcend
