A veil of conformity, a mask of sameness worn
A disguise of normalcy, to hide the unique form
A heart that beats with individuality, a mind that's bold and bright
A soul that longs for self-expression, in a world that's lost its light
The world sees only the surface, the image I present
But beneath the façade, a different story makes its lament
A cry for authenticity, a plea for understanding and grace
A desperate search for a place, where I can be my true self in this space
I ache to shed the pretence, to reveal my genuine face
To embrace my quirks and flaws, and let my true self take its place
To break free from the chains, that bind me to the crowd
To live unapologetically, and let my true self shine out loud
