6 - Hesitation

Hesitation- is a feeling of uncertainty, doubt, or indecisiveness that arises when a person is faced with a difficult decision or situation. It is a state of being reluctant or hesitant to act, speak, or make a choice. Hesitation can be cause by fear, lack of confidence, or lack of information or understanding.

For Paige, basketball is not just a sport that she enjoys playing. Many would say that the adrenaline rush from shooting your first point, hearing the audience applauding and seeing your teammates cheering for you are the best feeling of having to play the sport you love the most but for her those are just some of the reasons why she fell in love with basketball. Through this sport, she met different people that some became her friends and others who shortly became her family. The day she met her best friend was the best day of her life and she thank god everyday that she got to meet Azzi on that faithful day. They were competing at the same position at a USA Basketball camp and she could still remember the first time she laid her eyes on her. The first thing that came to her mind was that she was different from all the other players who she had to play against that game. She was so impressed at how Azzi never missed a shot whenever she had the ball. After they made the final cut, she got to team with her on the last game and she can't deny the connection they had every time they were on the court. It's like she always knows where she was on the court and it'll be an easy swoosh for when Paige passed her the ball. After they compete for the Olympics and winning a gold medal, Paige decided that she will make everything in her power to make Azzi her best friend. And shortly after learning everything about her and spending almost half a year with her and her family in Washington, Paige fell in love with the pretty dark-skinned girl she never thought of coming to her life and stealing her heart. Without hesitation, she definitely found the person she wants to spend her whole life with. The only question is how long will she be able to pretend that she's not in love with her best friend.

"Az, c'mon it's gonna be fun. I mean it's gonna be the last party we'll have before we go back home. Besides, all of our friends are going."

The tall curly haired girl rolled her eyes taking a moment from picking up stuff from her room. "Look at this mess. You think I have time to go to a party? Our flight is tomorrow and I'm still not half way done through packing. So, no Paige, I'll pass thank you."

"What if I help you pack a few and then we'll go to the party for a couple of hours then we can head back early and finish up?" Trying to persuade her she looked at her with her pleading eyes that she knows always work while tugging on her shirt.

Azzi groaned not able to resist her pouting blonde friend. No one has ever seen this side of Paige but her and she can't help but let her heart flutter at the thought. Even though she was still annoyed at her she can't stop but fall for her 'please say yes' cute pouting lips look that she always has when she wants to get her way with her. "Fine. But we should be back by 9 pm Paige. Swear to me we won't stay long after 9."

"Promise we'll be back by 9." A huge grin plastered on her face as she wrapped her muscular arm around her best friend. "But first let's get this packing done. Now which one do you need help with?"

Laughing at her excitement, Azzi pointed over her huge suitcase that was on the floor already full to the brim. "This freaking thing won't close up. I think I already spent an hour just trying to figure out how to close it."

Without another word, Paige went to the half way closed suitcase on the floor. She sat down on top of it and with one swift motion, she was able to close the zipper. Azzi stood there with her mouth wide open.

"You know, it still amazes me how you can do that like it was so easy."
