Azzi looked up from her hash brown and bacon when she watched her bestfriend took the seat beside her on the cafeteria that Monday morning. She smiled when Paige drop a small kiss on her temple before placing her tray on their table. It's been two months since they put a label on their relationship. They are no longer just best friends, they are officially dating. The proud grin on the older girl's face matches hers. Taking a sip of her orange juice, she smiled when she saw Kk and Ice approaching with their own breakfast hot from the buffet line. Using her fork, she spread a hash brown and swished it around the ketchup before popping it to her mouth. Looking across the table as the other two girls took a seat, she noticed Caroline following their actions and taking the seat beside Paige. There were a few moments of silence as they chewed their food before Kk spoked up.
"So, who knows the schedule for today?" Kk asked, spooning a full fork of her scrambled eggs. "I heard something about a free afternoon?"
"It's not really free," Paige informed her, reaching to take a piece of the hash brown from Azzi's plate. "Everyone is supposed to take some rest after practice today. Even though it's just an exhibition game tomorrow, coach still wants us to focus and improve some things that we can do once we played our first game but of course he wants us to have fun since it's officially the start of the season."
"Well, that's great. Yesterday's practice was a little intense." Ice piped in.
"I can't believe the season is finally here, whose team are we gonna play on Friday?" Kk said excitedly bouncing on her seat. "Is it USF or Villanova?"
"It's USF, we'll play Villanova on Monday." Caroline answered her.
"Papa told me if y'all want to have dinner at the cabin? He said he will be cooking for us and would like to know if you guys have some requests." Azzi told them.
Kk and Ice nodded their heads, "Oh yeah, free dinner is always the best. Can papa cook some of those grilled parmesan chicken he did last time?"
"Yeah, I can tell him that. You coming Carol?"
The taller brunette nodded her head before pushing her empty plate. "Yup. I wouldn't want to miss on Papa's home cooked meal."
"Okay, great. I'll just ask the rest of the team later." She said after sipping on her orange juice, she caught the knowing look on Paige and she rolled her eyes fondly, "Yes, Paige. I already asked Grandma to make you the mac n cheese."
"Thanks baby, you're the best." Paige pulled her to her side squeezing her waist before placing a sloppy kiss on her cheek. Kk and the others laughed when Azzi wiped the ketchup off her cheek.
"Eww, Paige!" She protested turning to her annoyed. "That's not nice." She pouted.
"Sorry baby, here let me help you." She leaned in again, after wiping her cheek and planting a sweet kiss on the same spot. "There, all good?"
