Beginning- the point at which something begins.
She could feel it. From the moment they held hands for the first time again since they got back from being away from each other for almost a month, after Paige went back to Montana to visit her mother and two siblings and Azzi going back to her hometown with her family, she knew that this was the beginning of the new chapter in their life. Everything was different and she felt free. This time, she doesn't have to pretend that she doesn't find her best friend attractive or that she doesn't have to steal glances whenever she thought Azzi wasn't looking. She doesn't have to worry about if the dark skinned girl find her too clingy or if she slips and might say something that crosses the line between their friendship. This time, the knot that surrounds the line between them for the past couple of years has been unbound. Her heart burst in unfathomable joy as she looked down at her bright brown eyes looking back at her with the same intensity and understanding. The way their touches were familiar but also foreign, their smiles holds a special meaning that only the two of them understand on what's the reason behind it.
"Mom's asking for you, you should come with me next time." The blonde girl said softly as she wrapped her arms excitedly around the younger girl. It's been a couple of weeks since she had seen her but she missed her terribly. Of course they'd been on the phone for the most part but having her in her arms is way better than talking to her on FaceTime.Azzi giggled. "I know. She called me the other day." As she pulled back her dimples were visible as she took in the sight of her best friend. "I miss you,P."
"You have no idea how much I waited to finally see you." She smiled back pulling her closer again. "I miss you so much." Planting a kiss on her forehead and inhaling her scent.
They stood there for a couple of minutes, arms wrapped around each other before they headed out of the airport. Azzi already arrived back at Storrs a few days before Paige and she volunteered to drive her best friend back to their apartment.
"Is everyone back already?" The blonde girl asked as she loaded her suitcase and carryon to the backseat of Azzi's jeep before hopping into the passenger seat.
"No, it's just you, me, Ines, Kayla, Jana and Q. The others said they will be here on Sunday." The brunette shrugged as she pulled out of the parking lot and to the driveway. "I think Ice is still on a cruise with her family. She send a picture earlier on the group chat."
That put an ease on Paige's nerves. She was not sure yet what Azzi wanted in regard to their relationship when they are around their other friends. They haven't told anyone about them and she planned on asking her about it for the past week but she decided to wait until they are back together.
"So.. I was wondering if we could talk about us? I mean, what should we say to our friends?" The blonde watch as Azzi look up at the rearview mirror catching her eyes.
Shrugging she looked back at the road. "We can just say we're still trying to figure it out. It's not like they haven't seen us act differently than before. I mean apart from the kissing I guess." She gave her a sideway glance, noticing as the blonde was folding her arms furrowing her eyebrows.
