Paige's Backstory: The 80s Origins

First Year of Laguna Creek High School

On September 1 of 1980, 2 days before Ruby and Meridian attend the school called Laguna Creek High School, they went to the store to get some books and school supplies without their mother because she's at home. "Ruby, do you think that I like to wear this shirt?" asked Meridian that if the shirt was available to wear on the first day and Ruby likes it, she should have worn the different shirt with a skirt and heels. After they went shopping with their clothes and supplies. "Summer vacation is finally over!" said Ruby how this marks the last day of the summer vacation before school. "Girls, how was your shopping?" asked Ezra to her daughters if they have the bags from shopping and they would prepare things for the first day, Ezra felt tired and went back to sleep and now, Ruby and Meridian have books for each other before their schedules are sent for Wednesday. Ruby thinks that she'll like history or psychology but she prefers to do art class, also called Mixed Media. Meridian dreamed that she would like to go to college and she would take an AP course during her 1st year at the high school. Now they had signed their predicting classes on the books so they wish that they would see classes in reality.

September 2, Meridian reminded Ruby that both of them will wake up at 5 AM or Ruby won't get enough sleep for some reason because of wasting hard time. At night, Meridian and Ruby went to sleep but she tries to smile with her eyes closed but she tried to get some sleep earlier.

Today is the first day on September 3, 1980. Girls finally woke up at 5 and prepared their clothes after showering but they look gorgeous. They had understood the bus slips and they will be on the same bus. Ruby and Meridian are now ready to go with their books and school supplies. Ezra felt normal about the girls leaving to their bus.

Now the new students arrived at Laguna Creek High School with their different buses. After they went off their buses, the principal Aubry Langley gave Ruby and Meridian their schedules for the 1st semester and they had good luck before they go to their first classes and the warning bell. Meridian and Ruby sat down on the stone seats at shows Ruby her schedule. When Ruby checks her own schedule again, the 3rd period called "AP Human Geography" has the same AP class course as Meridian, Ruby stated that after she graduates, she wont be going to college. Meridian explained that AP Human Geo is just an AP college-level course before Merry should get her degree.

Actually, the bell had rung and all of the students went to their different classes, Ruby and Merry went to their classes but the 1st period was now separated, the assistant principal had let Ruby out of Merry's classroom and realizes that her sister's schedule is separated. Ruby went to her first biology classroom and her teacher Mrs. Lacey Miller had welcomed the freshmen on the first day in this school. Mrs. Miller picked the first student would be Ruby. Ruby introduced herself about everything such as a mentally upset mother, a late sister and she would like to make new friends with her sister. Someone had laughed and Ruby was bullied for the first time. After the 2 periods, she saw Meridian and Ruby turned to follow her to AP Human Geography. At the 3rd classroom, Merry and Ruby were together and the teacher Mrs. Morrow had met the freshmen again and before she could start teaching for the first time, she asked them who had siblings and Ruby was the only one with Meridian. Ruby introduces for the 3rd time and she stated that she doesn't go to college after graduation and her mother getting dropped out of this school. Now Mrs. Morrow starts teaching Human Geography to all of the freshmen and Ruby doesn't understand how this is working.

After the 3rd period, Ruby thought that AP Human Geo was hard and they are separated again from their 4th period classrooms. Ruby's 9th grade algebra is the 4th period before lunch and she got tripped by a student. The teacher Mrs. Cerys Salinas or Mrs. Cerys had met Ruby for the first time. Meanwhile, a female student Cassandra Mendoza had introduced herself to everyone and she thinks that she is popular at school. After Cassandra's introduction, Ruby was up next and everyone clapped slowly as they won't welcome Ruby. Ruby introduced herself and still states that her mom had expelled from school in 1958. Adan Mueller, a male student starts to mock that her mom had faking her death while everyone laughs. After the 4th period at the outside lunch, Ruby served her tray while Meridian sits with her friends that she met, Ruby was tripped by Cassandra and fell on the floor. Meridian saw her sister when she got bullied by several students as Cassandra had threw the tray of food on Ruby's clothes, everyone had giggled at them and actually, Ruby had called Cassandra's name and she starts to scream loudly at her in front of everyone. The silence was awkward and Cassandra exclaimed "WHAT.. THE HELL WAS THAT?" As everyone outside are laughing at Ruby and Meridian was scared when she was intimidated. The principal went outside to see what's going on and Ruby answered that Cassandra had bullied her when the tray was spilled. Mrs. Langley had took Cassandra to the office and gave her detention.

At the end of the period, 6th period, Ruby and Meridian are back together again as they went to the girls' gym class. After they had showered and wore their uniforms, Ruby was in the same team as Merry when they would play volleyball. When the PE teacher Mrs. Chelsea Clarke had whistled as they start the game, the student on the other team had hit the ball and it goes to Ruby but the few teammates had hit the ball to each other on Ruby's team but they wouldn't let her hit the ball. Mrs. Chelsea had enough of the girls bullying Ruby as Meridian had pushed her friend to the floor when Ruby will hit the ball. After school, they went to their same bus and went home.

At home, the girls had changed their previous clothes and Ezra asked how was school and Meridian stated that Ruby was bullied by everyone, including all grades from 9th grade to seniors. During dinner, Ezra cooked ravioli for the girls and Ruby was tired of washing the dishes. "Oh come on, you're just a dumb girl who doesn't wash the dishes will be grounded!" said Ezra that she forced her to do the dishes, imagine how Ruby would hit the dirty dishes and push her mother to the oven. Ruby went back into her room and got rest when she is upset.
