The sound of the faint car crashing and flipping over was in my head and the worst part is, I wasn't even in that car. I woke up in a daze and saw my surroundings, I was back in my room. I turned to my left and saw the time, 7:30 am. Time to get out of bed. I got up and did my morning routine from Monday to Friday. I took my morning shower, brushed my teeth and hair, and put it in my normal hairstyle. My ponytail with the one strand of hair loose. After getting dressed and grabbing my bag I walk down the stairs to see breakfast ready on the table. Just like every morning I see the 4 people in this household. My mother and my 3 brothers. The oldest, Andrew. The perfect name for the oldest child in the family. Next we have Austin, the middle of brothers. Lastly we Andy, the youngest. Then we have me, I know what you're thinking. My name must start with an A also, like Alex, Alan, Anthony, Aden, Ace, hell, maybe even Adam, but no. You're wrong. My name actually starts with an M and no, not Malcom, Max, or even Mason. Deal breaker: I'm a girl. And my name is Melody. My dad named me Melody. And I know I haven't mentioned my dad, but that's a story for another day.

"What? Not a simple 'hi'?" asked Melody.

"No, here's breakfast."

That's my mom for ya, cold and distant.

"Why cook for her, Mom? She's old enough to make her own meals." Andrew said.

"And you're old enough to move out, but yet, here you stand."

"Melody, be nice to your brother."

"Oh, so it's ok for him to say shit to me but wrong for me to say something back?"

"Hey, what's for breakfast?" asked Austin.

Austin then took my muffin and ate it.

"Seriously? There's eggs and bacon on the table. Why take my breakfast?"

"Because I can."

I grabbed my bag and walked up to Austin.

"Not cool, dude."

I then grabbed his bacon.

"Why did you take my breakfast?"

"Because I can."

I went to school and saw the school's popular girl. Every school has one.

"Well hey, Melody."

"I don't have the energy to deal with your blonde ass."

"Now, now, no need to be rude. I'm just here to invite you to my party"

"You're inviting me? To your party?"

"Here's the invitation."

I took the invite and looked at it.

"Uh, thank you?"

"Have a nice day."

I can't deal with this right now. I went to my locker and found my best friend there.

"Hey, girl."

My best friend is a boy named Dennis. Deal Breaker: he's gay.

"Hi, did you get invited to Freya's party?"

"Oh my god, yes. The girl came up to me and was like 'Hey, you're invited to my party'. Like, what?"

"I didn't even open the invite."

I opened the letter and decided to read it out loud.

"Uh, "You're invited to my party. Please come, it's not like you have anything better to do. Bring your friend, bring your girlfriend, bring your boyfriend, bring anyone. There'll be food and games and a very special guest." Wow, she didn't even try to be nice."

"Is it really a surprise? When is she ever nice?"

"Who's this 'special guest'?"

"I don't know, some famous music producer child."

"You know what? I'll go."

"What about your mom?"

"What about her?"

"Won't she be mad?"

"I don't care."

In this moment, right here, right now, it was time for me to live my life without having to think about what my mom thinks.

"Besides, it's time for us to have some fun." said Melody.
