"What is wrong with you? Why do you have to bring her dad into this?" Dennis asked.

My dad was the one person who made it ok to be living in this fucked up world. But after he died, this world became even more fucked up.

"She needs to be reminded that her dad is dead because of her." Freya said.

"It wasn't my fault. I wasn't even in that car. He was speeding and...and...and that's what caused him to crash."

"He was speeding because he couldn't wait to be far away from you. Face it, you killed him!"

Freya then pushed Melody in the fountain.

"You killed your father! You think you can escape the truth? Sorry to break it to you, but you can't."

Dennis was in the water holding my hand and rubbing my shoulder.

"Come on, Melody. Let's get you home."

We stepped out of the water and knowing Freya, she always had to have the last word.

"The truth hurts, doesn't it?"

Everyone was watching us leave. It felt like we were having The Walk of Shame. I stayed at Dennis' place for the night. I couldn't bear the fact of walking in the house to have Mom screaming at me like she cares if I went missing.

"It's ok, on Monday morning everything will blow over by then."

"I don't know, Dennis. I can't live my life having people blame me for something that wasn't even my fault."

"It's ok, get some sleep."

I closed my eyes and quickly drifted off to sleep.

Melody?

"Who's there?"

Melody?

"Hello?"

Why couldn't you save me?

"Dad?"

Why couldn't you stop me from dying?

"I'm sorry. I should've tried harder."

You did this.

"Did what?"

YOU DID THIS TO ME!

I then woke up after seeing my dad's face crushed and bloody.

"Are you ok?" Dennis asked.

I turned to see Dennis right beside me. I lied again.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

I wasn't fine. It's been 2 days since Freya's party, and I wasn't ready to go back to school. But I faced my problems and put on a brave face and left for school. I was getting looks left and right, I heard snickering, whispers, and laughing.

"Hey, Melody? How was your weekend?"

"Uh, good."

"I have one question."

"Ok."

"Did you kill anybody else?"

Everyone was laughing. I just ran to the girls bathroom, I wasn't going to let them see me drown in my own misery. Soon the bathroom door opened, I heard Freya's voice.

"Melody is going to get what she deserves. Everyone will soon hate her, while everyone will love me."

Could this girl get any more crazy? I wanted to open this door and knock her socks off but that wouldn't do anything.

"Anyways, I have to get back to class. My special guest from the party is here looking for his father's next 'big thing' and I want to look my best."

Next big thing? What is she talking about? My class is with Freya and I don't want to see her but I also want to know what this is about. Once again, I took the high road. I built up my courage and went to that class. If only I didn't have to see Freya, that'd make my life so much better.
