After a whole day of kicking the bucket list, it was time to call it a night. We did everything on that list except 16 and 18. At 16 I wanted to get my drivers license but never did because of the whole...you know. And when I turn 18, I want to make snow angels. Because I'll feel like I'm a kid again. I got home and saw my mom and 3 brothers in the living room. They were clearly waiting for me.

"Melody, your brothers and I decided that...we don't want you hanging out with Kyle anymore."

"Did you all decide that, or was it just you?"

"Does that matter?" Andy asked.

"It does to me. Did you even tell them about Richard?"

"Who's Richard?" Austin asked.

"Oh, you didn't. Then I'll be glad to tell them."

"Melody, are you really going to break up the family over a little misunderstanding?"

This woman has the audacity to tell me that it'll be me breaking up the family because of a little 'misunderstanding'.

"Oh, so it'll be me breaking up the family by telling the truth? A lie that I didn't make? You're pathetic."

"What is happening?" Andrew asked.

"Our mother has been competing with me. About getting a boyfriend the fastest."

"Is that true?" Andrew asked.

"No, she's lying!"

"You all should've been here around 6:00. She had Richard Jefferson, Kyle's father, was here and sitting in Dad's chair. The chair she hasn't let anyone sit or touch in 5 years."

"I was going to tell you boys."

"Were you?"

"I was!"

"Oh, please. We're only having this conversation because you got caught. Oh, and just to let you know, they met 3 hours after I found out."

"What?!" shouted Andrew.

"Are they dating or keeping it casual?"

"When you met someone 3 hours ago and started dating, is that keeping it casual?" Melody asked.

"So, let me get this straight. You're dating Kyle's father? That you've only met 3 hours ago?"

"I guess if you put it that way, yes."

"I've got a question for you, why did you say I can't see Kyle anymore?"

"Mom told us he was being a bad influence on you." Andy said.

"Oh, so that's your way of getting back at me. You think that I'll be dumb enough to listen to you?"

"I'm your mother, so you'll start listening to me."

"Oh, so now you want to be a mother? I raised myself when I was 12 years old. You may have never been a mother to me, but at least I wasn't alone. Because I had Dad. I was ok with not having you around that much, but when Dad died I thought this was the time for you to start being the mother I needed."

"I now know that I wasn't there for you when your dad died."

"No you don't!"

"Melody, maybe this is what we need. We can build the bond of mother and daughter."

"Mother and daughter? Mothers nurture their children, they love them with all of their heart, you've never done a thing for me! I'd rather be dead than listen to your crap!"
