(Heads up, this takes place 2 years ago, Melody was 15 turning 16)

"So, are you excited for the talent show tonight?" Dennis asked.

"No, I'm into talent shows anymore. You know why."

"Maybe just see the first act, if you don't like it then we can leave."

"Fine, but only if we get ice-cream after."

"Deal."

Later that night Dennis and Melody went to the talent show. When they got there, Melody bumped into another student.

"Oh, sorry." Melody said.

Miles Darren, the school's typical bad boy. He went through girls like tissue. When he locked eyes on Melody, he knew he wanted her. But he knows she's never given trust to anyone besides Dennis.

"Hey, I'm Miles."

"I know. Everyone talks about you. The bad boy who goes through girls like tissue then throws them in the trash like they're nothing."

"You're a fan?"

"No, I'm not into bad boys. Bad boys are jerks with big egos."

Melody left and took her seat. Miles was never the kind of guy to give up when he sees something he wanted. For months he worked hard trying to get Melody, but in the end they became friends. As time passed by, Miles became impatient with each passing day. He didn't want to be 'just friends' with someone he wanted. So after weeks of fighting, he finally told Melody.

"Melody, I like you. I really like you. And I want us to be together forever."

"Forever is a long time. Miles, you don't really like me. You just want me for one thing."

"I like you, Melody! Why can't you just be my girlfriend?!"

"I'm 15, I'm not ready for a relationship. Not to mention too young."

Miles was angry, something came over him. He raised his hand and slapped Melody hard. After that day, Melody was stuck in an abusive and toxic situation. For months, Miles would hit Melody when she wouldn't give him what he wanted. Finally someone saw Miles hitting Melody and called the police. Miles had to change schools and stay away from Melody. That was around the time when Melody burned her stomach.

"Miles, it's good to see you." Richard said.

"Can someone tell me what is happening? Why is Melody's face white? How do 3 know each other?" Kyle asked.

"No reason, they're just old friends." Dennis said.

"Melody?"

"Yeah, just old friends."

"If you were old friends then why do you have fear on your face? I bet you here treated you good."

"Oh boy, would you lose that bet." Dennis said.

"Dennis, don't." Melody said.

"Shush, you don't know anything."

"Dennis, please!" exclaimed Melody.

"He's 18 and he's his brother, he deserves the truth. You wanna know the truth? You're brother used to beat the crap out of my best friend."

"Dennis, stop." Melody said.

"He sent her to the ER twice, I seriously doubt he 'treated her good'." Dennis said.

No one said anything. Everyone was looking at Miles with disgusted looks on their faces. Richard looked shocked. Mom looked like she was going to cry all over again. Dennis looked hurt over the fact that this man put his hands on me. And Kyle, he looked sad and angry. I couldn't be in the same room as Miles, so I did what I do best in these kinds of situations. I ran, and I never looked back.
