It's been months since Miles returned. It's December 23, my birthday is just 2 days away. My mom decided to host a Christmas dinner tomorrow here. She invited all our friends, or should I say her friends. Sure, Dennis and Kyle will be here but that's only because Dennis' family are really good friends and Kyle is only coming because my mom slept her way into fame and money. Talk about gold digger.
"Are you excited for the Christmas dinner tomorrow?" Dennis asked.
"Maybe not excited, but I feel like this Christmas will be one to remember."
The next day I woke up to smell pancakes. I got dressed and walked downstairs. I saw Mom and Richard in the kitchen. They were laughing and kissing. Even though they looked happy, I can smell the bullshit coming out of my mom's ears.
"Do you really believe Mom is happy in this relationship?" Andrew asked.
Andrew and I have been growing closer.
"I know Mom, and she is clearly dating him for money."
"Is she, or is this her way of being better than you?"
"Maybe it's both. But Richard, I don't trust him. Something about him just seems...off."
"How so?"
"When I first saw him in this house, he was acting like he didn't know me. After all, it was his deal."
"Do you think he's using Mom?"
"If so, what is he using her for? Money? But that's her reason for dating him."
"A wife?"
"He'll cheat on her the second a new woman comes into town. He did that to his last wife."
"A family?"
"He has 2 sons, what could he get out of that?"
"Maybe sons are not what he wants."
"What do you mean?"
"It's just a thought, but maybe he's not dating Mom for any of that. I think he's dating Mom because of you."
"Me? What would he want from me?"
"I did some research on him the other day, and in all his interviews talking about his family, he said he always wanted a daughter."
"So you think he's dating Mom because he wants a daughter?"
"That's what I think."
"I guess we'll see. Dinner is in a few hours, you should get ready. It's Christmas!" Melody said.
Hours went by and some guests arrived. I was in my room looking in the mirror. I did my hair and was even wearing lip gloss. I look pathetic.
"Knock knock, can I come in?" Dennis asked.
"Hey! I could've been naked."
"I'm gay, Melody. If I saw your kitty cat I wouldn't say if it's nice or not, because hey, I like boys."
"I don't know what to say about that. Well, how's it looking downstairs?"
"My mom and dad are here, your brothers are also here."
"What about Freya?"
"Not here yet. Richard is here."
"Not surprised. He is my mom's boyfriend."
"Your 3 aunts and 5 uncles are here."
"Damn! Is it too late to run?"
"Yeah, all your cousins are here."
"Even Max?"
"Yep."
My cousin Max and I have never gotten along. It was always him and what he wanted. He loved playing pranks on me when we were younger. One time he put chocolate pudding on my bed and made it look like I shit my own bed.
"If it makes you feel better, Kyle is here."
When Dennis told me Kyle was here, all my worries seemed to fade away.
"Ok."
"Come on, let's get this party started."
We went downstairs where I saw my entire family. I had 15 cousins in total. 2 of them were bold and honest. 3 of them were like Max, always pulling pranks. Another 2, the twins. Madison and Mason. Always getting into trouble. They call themselves M&M, like the candy M&M's. 4 of my cousins always say something about the food they eat. And the final 4, they never talk. 3 of my uncles are my dad's brothers. They have always been there for me since the day I was born. My other 2 uncles are just like my mom, cold, distant, and never seem to care about me. My 2 aunts are always happy to see me, but they sometimes get too involved with my dating life. My last aunt, Aunt June. She always has something to say about me, about my hair, about my clothes, about shoes, and always talking about my weight.
"Hey, you wanna spy on the guest from upstairs?" Dennis asked.
"Hell yeah!"
Dennis and I have this thing every Christmas. We go upstairs and watch the guests from the stairs. We would always guess what every guest would do.
"Alright, M&M are going down to the laundry room. How much do you want to bet Mason will get in the washing machine?" Dennis asked.
"I have 50 bucks, 50 bucks Mason gets in the washing machine and says 'I've never felt more free!'. Those will be his exact words."
"Alright, you got yourself a bet."
Dennis and I went down to the laundry room and saw Madison getting Mason in the washing machine.
"Alright, washing machine check. Now we just gotta hear him say those words." Melody said.
"Mason, get out of there." Dennis said.
"No! This is my world now!"
"You're going to get hurt."
"I've never felt more free!"
I gave Dennis my 'pay up' face.
"Fine! Here."
Later we watched everyone and made bets about their move. That's when we saw my mom and Dennis's dad getting a little too close.
"Is it me, or does it look like your dad and my mom are dating?"
"They do seem a little too close to be just neighbors. But isn't your mom dating Kyle's dad?"
"That's what she told me."
Later on the party started. Everyone was saying Merry Christmas and some said happy early birthday to me. After the party I got bored, so I went digging in the attic. I soon found some old papers, around the time I was born. I found an old DNA test. Why would Mom need a DNA test done about me? I looked more into it and what I found almost gave me a heart attack. The man I called my dad for my whole life, was not my dad. If Robert is not my dad, then who is?
