Episode Twelve
...Dabi, Izuku, and Hawks sat inside the vehicle, watching people exit and enter the bank. Most were rich upper-class citizens who held political power in Japan. This bank wasn't guarded by any heroes but by a team of bank guards each armed with enough ammunition to take out a rampaging villan or at the very least hold him or her off from robbing the bank.
The force of security officers wasn't the issue for the trio but the fact that they could set off alarms that could alert people to their presence. Hawks, in particular, had a reputation, and Izuku being a missing child would raise flags. Dabi had planned for this as he pulled out a silver case.
Hawks raised an eyebrow but chose to say anything until Dabi opened the case to reveal three masks, the first was an All Might mask Izuku recognized as a rare one he wasn't able to obtain. The details of the hair and facial expressions were exquisite. The second mask was ironically a Hawks mask with the third next to it being a Mountain Lady Mask that Izuku hadn't seen due to her debute occurring during the start of his time with Giran.
Hawks gave Dabi a questioning look before speaking. "So you expect me to wear a Mountain Lady mask while you have my mask, you're mistaken." Hawks said with a defensive frown.
"The Hawks merch is for you, bird boy, those giant flappers of yours can't be hidden so easily." Dabi said tossing the Hawks mask to the avian hero.
Hawks rolled his eyes, "How exactly are you going to go undetected if I'm wearing my own face on my face, at this point, I should just go in without a mask to begin with."
Dabi sighed, putting a hand to his forehead. "You're being difficult to be difficult you should be worried about pro heroes showing up." The pro hero threat wasn't just something Dabi used to gain control of the situation. It was a legitimate threat that if they didn't pull of this heist exactly as planned, everything would fall apart.
Izuku knew the risks, yet he wondered what his mother would think if she saw him. Maybe she would care, but most likely, she wouldn't bat an eye. That being said, Izuku wouldn't get caught, even without a quirk, he would make sure that the plan was completed successfully.
Dabi could see Izuku was conflicted and gave him a look, but Izuku just nodded, steeling his emotions and nerves for the heist to come. The fear that would have paralyzed him in the past held no power over him. Not now and especially not after everything he went through over the past few months. He had fixed Dabi, who was all but destined to die due to the consequences of his quirk. He created new technology before he was even a legal adult. The boy who was bullied, the boy who looked up to All Might, was gone.
Dabi could sense the conviction in Izuku and felt oddly proud of Izuku. While the boy has renewed his life, it was more heartwarming to see how he evolved as a person. "Well then, let's get to heisting."
