Episode Seven
...

Dabi stood inside of a chamber that Izuku had built. It had been almost a year since Dabi had met Izuku, but Giran confirmed Izuku's research could be the key to preventing Dabi from facing the side effects of his quirk.

Izuku stood tall as he prepared the machine, flipping switches, reconfiguring dials, and running two more simulations. If he was wrong, Dabi would die, but if he was right, he would have cracked the secret to preventing quirk drawbacks. Truly, it was a miracle of science that Izuku had even been able to create this.

Overhaul watched the experiment along with Giran. He had put a great deal of cash into this project, and if it failed, it would be up to him to punish the ones responsible for flushing his money down the drain. Not that he was losing much considering his wealth, but still, if he let everyone waste money, it would soon run out.

Inside the machine, a blue wave pulsated as Dabi screamed. His screams made Izuku flinch, but the green haired boy remained strong as he watched Dabi's body glow and shake from within the chamber. "Hang in there, Dabi." Izuku said as he threw a pair of goggles as he began to look more and more like a mad doctor.

Overhaul watched the boy, surprised that he was able to do so much as his age. "Isn't this remarkable." He muttered underneath his crow mask, his eyes fixated on Izuku as the chamber pulsated again before opening. Steam and vapor poured out of the Dabi stepped forward the patches of his skin were still visible but faded. At the center of his chest was an ice crystal that seemed to pulsate as Dabi got to his feet.

"This feeling, it's like when I was a boy." Dabi said as he got to his feet and for the first time in years, shed actual tears. "Izuku you." He said before, seeming to regain his usual personality as he put a hand on Izuku’s shoulder and exited the room, leaving Izuku to marvel at his achievement.

Overhaul was surprised that Izuku worked out such a complicated process to heal and seemingly awaken Dabi. His own scientists were incapable of fixing Dabi, never mind the true actualization of an awkaenining. Turning to Giran, he smiled underneath his mask. "Your assistant has proven himself well, as agreed your funding and permanent Yakuza membership are official, our resources are yours." Overhaul said as he tossed the card he kept in his pocket to Giran who caught it and placed it in his own shirt pocket where he kept his lighter.

When he first arrived he didn't belive Izuku would be able to do anything, his potential was certainly nothing seemingly special but he still brought the card. Going forward he needed to make his mark on the world and with Dabi fully functional things were set for his plan to begin. The device Izuku created would be key for the Grand revival to begin.

"Izuku, your future seems bright there will be hope for you yet." He added before leaving as well the room growing more quiet as Giran put a hand on Izuku’s shoulder.

"I knew I put good faith into you." Giran said as he lit up a cigarette and put it to his lips, taking a long hit.

"I wasn't able to fully restore him and the awakening was." Izuku wasn't sure how he solved the awakening equation while he was happy with the results he was still unsure if he could call this a victory. Dabi seemed happy, and that made Izuku happy.

Giran shook his head. "This is just the start of something great, but I won't force you to continue." He explained as he looked at the machine that could forcefully awaken a quirk. It would be instrumental in the plan Overhaul had, but it might be too far for Izuku.

Izuku looked at Giran, the man who believed in him when Izuku lost all of the belief he had within himself. "I am with you, whatever plan you have ill stay with you and complete the plans you have set in motion." Izuku believed in what he said but before Giran could reply, Dabi reentered the room.

"In half a year, Overhaul has promised us an opportunity to assassinate my father." Dabi explained his blue flames, igniting without burning his flesh. "My father, the man who cursed me to this fate, the man most unworthy of his title, Enji Todoroki."

"Endeavor." Izuku said, realizing what he would be doing if he stood with Dabi and Giran. Endeavor was the number two hero who saved lives for years. Despite this, Izuku felt more loyalty towards Dabi more than Endeavor or any of the heroes. "If it's for my friends, I'll help in anyway I can." He said his words confident as despite the weight of the unknown world he was stepping into set in this was still his decision.
