Chapter 1: She who are destined for something great.
"You, who are destined to be the guardian of the resting place of all Gods, shall face all kinds of hardship," proclaimed a man who shone as brightly as the sun. He looked at a girl no older than ten, who was playing blissfully with unknown creatures around her, unaware of his presence."But worry not, my dear. For you, who are loved by the Gods and all creatures created by them, shall forever be safe and guided."
The girl, finally noticing the man, beamed brightly. "Papa!"
The man smiled, picked her up, and spun her around, causing her to laugh loudly—a melody to his ears and to all the creatures around them.
"Jinia," he murmured.

Once upon a time, in a kingdom long gone from the current timeline, there lived a princess who was mistreated by everyone. As cliché as it sounds, her life was harder than Cinderella's. Despite being the first and legitimate daughter of the King and the deceased Queen, she was treated worse than a slave. Abused by her own family and mistreated by everyone around her, her life was indeed much harsher than Cinderella's.
"What are you doing there, you murderer?" a harsh, cold voice behind her sneered. Jinia was trying to discreetly take some bread from the kitchen, as the maids refused to feed her. When she asked for food, they looked at her with disgust.
As she turned to explain, a hand grabbed her hair, causing her to drop the bread and hit her head against the wall. She looked up and recognized her father, the one who blamed her most for her mother's death.
"I told you not to show up in front of me, didn't I?" he spat, looking down at her bleeding head. Jinia bit back her tears, knowing that crying would only make her situation worse. She waited for him to leave so she could eat her bread in the basement of the maids' quarters.
Seeing her silent defiance, his face hardened. "Such an ungrateful thing. Let's leave."
'Finally, he's leaving. He's so annoying,' she thought, picking up the bread and heading back to her room, where her animal friends awaited her. As she opened the door, a gust of wind hit her face, but Jinia, at five years old, didn't complain. Instead, she smiled at the familiar figure she had been anticipating.
"Papa," she whispered, careful not to alert the maids. The man had made it impossible for the outside world to hear any noise from her room, which was why the maids hadn't noticed all her animal friends living with her.
The figure noticed her bleeding head, his eyebrows furrowing and his face darkening. All creatures, human or not, felt the pressure of his anger—all except Jinia. Though she didn't feel the heavy pressure, Jinia was aware of her Papa's anger and the difficulty her animal friends had breathing. She knew what she had to do: hug and kiss her tsundere father.
"Papa, up up," Jinia said, spreading her arms. The man sighed, smiled gently, and picked her up, the pressure disappearing. The animals looked at her gratefully for stopping the man from harming them.
"Did he do it again?" the man asked, raising his hand. A bright light appeared, and Jinia's pain vanished. She didn't realize how much pain she was in until her Papa healed her. She smiled brightly at him, slowly closing her eyes in exhaustion. The man let her sleep in his arms, gesturing to the animals to eat the bread Jinia had brought.
You might be wondering who this man is and why she calls him Papa. First, that's for you to find out. Second, do you really think her abusive sperm donor deserves to be called Father, or even Papa? No, right? So, someone else stepped up to be her father figure. Now, back to the story.
Papa placed Jinia on her bed and looked at the animals, now settling in for the night. He sighed, glancing back and forth between Jinia and the animals. 'They all are the same,' he thought.
"Now then, I need to speed up my work so I can get her out of this filthy place," he said, his eyes glowing brightly. He looked at the girl sleeping peacefully and left the room, leaving a dust of gold hovering, guarding all the creatures inside.

Hi, everyone. It's your author here! I've decided to completely change the plot and focus more on Jinia's life rather than Cale's. I believe starting with Jinia's backstory is a good idea. Don't worry, I'll only make small changes and add necessary scenes. I can't set a schedule for my next update because college life and being a double degree student are really tough 😭. This is only a small update but i will try posting the Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 as soon as possible.
I also dropped some hints, and since you're all smart, I'm sure you figured out who this "Papa" is. Bye for now, love you all!
