Duha lives alone by necessity not by choice. The world passes her by for the most part. Her past prevents her from getting close to other yaspilrmeth. The world around her is changing to the point where even she can't hide from it anymore. The Drago...

The people stopped a few feet from the wall and the archers from the back ran forward. The arrows started to fall on both sides. "They are trying to draw us out." I said watching Topaz and Katja.
"This situation is bad Reina of the Dragon fire. The plan to draw them in did not work and now we have a weak point in our defence. I don't know what we will do when they charge." Green Dragon said shaking his head.
"We fight. There is nothing more we can do." I watched as arrows hit some of the people, and they were dragged out of the group for aid by the last Blue Dragon not roped into this fight.
The soft thudding of arrows into the ground was filling me with the need to run. I forced down my rat nature and turned to ask the man next to me to send a message just as he grunted and fell to the floor. I watched as blood pooled around the shaft of the arrow sticking out of his arm. I felt sick as he got dragged away. I hope you are on your way Kyanite. I need you to come home to your hoard. With that thought, there was a cry from the humans.
They started to close the distance to the walls. To my surprise ladders appeared from the middle of the group. "Back up!" I yelled the order was repeated through the village.
As the first soldiers came over the wall, some of the women left to watch the children and ran from the town to reinforce the troops we had in the front, wearing some of the shirts I'd seen Pup sowing. The sounds of metal on metal, and people screaming in pain and in effort filled the village.
I felt fear and started fighting myself to stand firm. Green Dragon growled and plunged into the fight leaving me alone watching the fight. I'm a target here and everyone else is fighting.
Just as I was going to join the fight a man stopped next to me. "Let us help."
I turned to look at him. It was one of the humans that had attacked us before. He was wearing his armour. "Come on then, show us you mean us no harm."
He nodded, and we ran into battle together, chased by the cry of his troops. We worked our way through the group. Moving through them wasn't too easy, but soon enough, we made it to the front line. The human next to me slashed with his sword while I moved about finding any exposed bit of skin with my knife.
A guttural cry made me spin. Katja was standing above Topaz who was lying on the floor holding his shoulder. She was spinning with her weapon just like her mother and keeping him safe completely alone. Everyone that came close to her got a taste of her skill. She howled like Duha.
My blood ran cold as the howl was returned by a thousand throats. Wolves ran out of the trees all around the village and harried the cavalry that had stayed outside our range. The howls were followed by a growl then a roar as the wolves were joined by bears. The outside of the walls became a bloodbath of people and horses trying to fight against wild animals.
I slashed and stabbed as I made my way to Katja. "Our friends are helping Katja! Stand firm!" I cried not knowing if she would hear me over the noise of the battle.
