Chapter 28

  Me and Dallace are cuddling up peacefully on the living room couch. Ever since I've been allowed to be out of my room and around the house, with Dallace's supervision. I've been a lot happier and full of energy. Right now we're watching our favorite show. I cuddled up closer to Dallace as he played with my hair.

  Dallace's phone started to buzz from someone calling him. He picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID. He answered it as soon as he saw it. He listened closely to whatever was said from the other line. Then he hung up after a short chat, ending it with a "I'll see you soon."

"Darling, I have to go. I'll be back quickly, don't bother waiting for me to get back. Finish this episode and maybe read a little." Dallace said to me as he got up and patted my head.

"Where are you off to?" I ask.

"Just some work things. I won't be too long, doll. No need to be so worrisome."

"Dally, you've been leaving anytime you receive a call. Why is your job calling you so often? Don't they know you have a life outside of that?"

"Darling it's nothing like that. This is an important matter I should be there for. They wouldn't call me if I wasn't needed."

  I huff in annoyance but I'm not too hesitant to let him leave. Before he goes off to his "important" job situation, I give him a quick kiss and he's off. Whenever he up and leaves so suddenly, I get incredibly bored stuck in the house. I'm not sure how or when, but Dallace had installed the same exact system he has in my room, all over the house. So, that just meant there was no way for me to leave.

  In every single crevice there was a glint of the forcefield type material. This type of upgrade was no joke. It required Dallace's fingerprint to leave and enter the house. How this was even possible was beyond me. Not to mention how he could afford it all with his salary of who knows how much at his new job wasn't to be of my concern, as he says.

  I walk around the house mindlessly. Having something other than the tv and books to entertain me would be much more fun. Honestly, having the whole house to myself was a privilege, but I still get bored so easily. It was irritating having to do the same thing every day. Maybe I could think of something that Dallace would allow me to have. Like... maybe uh... oh my gosh! A pet!

  I spent the whole time Dallace was gone watching and thinking of what kind of pet I wanted. Dogs were cute, but so were cats! But what if Dallace wants a low maintenance pet. Knowing that I won't be going out much. Dogs would be kind of a problem since I wouldn't be able to walk them. Dallace might not be able to walk them much because he'd be at work. And well, cats don't really need walks. They could just stay home like lots of other cats do.

  I sat in front of the tv screen, taking this advantage of being alone, to watch documentaries of cats. There were lots of variations of cats. So many breeds and fur type's. I couldn't quite put my mind on what kind of cat I could possibly want. After all, every single one of these cats were so adorable! How could I turn down any type of cat for another?

  My mind was driving me crazy with thoughts on it and I wanted desperately to tell Dallace and have him give me his opinion so that my mind could rest. So, I decided to go to my room and take a nap until Dallace returns. Luckily, it was pretty easy to fall fast asleep. Even with my mind racing with doubts just a few seconds ago.

Dallace's POV

  I walk towards the door and unlock it. Relieved to finally be back home. I had only been gone for a bit over 2 hours, but to me it was so incredibly wasteful being away from Y/N. In all that time I had spent at work, I could have happily spent it with my beloved. Sometimes I doubt wanting to have the job I have, but if I didn't maintain it well and do what's best for it. I'd put it all to waste and I wouldn't be able to give Y/N the life she fully deserve's.
