Hours 1-3[11pm-2am] The first three hours of labor. Abby's water broke at 11pm February 3, 1992. At first it started as the feeling of having to pee. Sheila helps Abby to the bathroom and as soon as she step in, Abby's water breaks. Sheila helps her to the toilet before she runs out frantic trying to get what she needs. The first thing Sheila does is call the hospital to inform them that Abby is in labor. A nurse took a message to send back to Dr. Hunt. Sheila continues to run around the house frantic. After everything is set up, Sheila helps Abby to the living room and gets her into the kiddy pool. The doctor still hasn't arrived yet but Sheila gets in the pool behind Abby and trys her best to calm her down by rubbing her back and humming her favorite song.

Abby starts to relax a bit. It's almost like the baby decided to give her a break. After about a half hour Abby starts to yell in pain again. "This doesn't feel right! Something's wrong." Abby says through gritted teeth. Sheila looks around the room frantically searching for what might help as she continues to rub her back while chanting "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala" trying to help with some of her pain. Sheila opens her eyes and in front of them stood Emily. Emily stands there with a soft smile on her face looking down at Abby. All the sudden Abby relaxes again. "I feel better. It's like the baby is calm." Sheila sighs "That's because you're not alone baby. Emily is here with us." Emily looks at Sheila. "I've come to tell you that Abby will be fine and the baby is so strong. It's no easy task to bring into this world such a powerful first born of a new generation of Bennett witches." "One more thing, there's no need to worry about the animals that will arrive and the power you will feel when the baby takes it's first breath." Emily looks back down at Abby and places a hand on her shoulder. "You will be okay, the baby is strong. Everything will work out the way it's meant to." With that being the last of Emily's words, Abby calms down and relaxes. "Mom, Emily spoke to me. She said that everything will be fine and it will all work out the way it's meant to." Sheila smiles and says "That's good to hear baby." A few minutes go by and Sheila can't seem to get what Emily said out of her mind. What did she mean by animals?

Hours 4-10[3am-7am] The doctor finally shows up. "I'm so sorry that it took so long. Another baby decided that the wee hours of the morning was a good time to want out." When Dr. Hunt realizes that Abby is asleep. "It's good that she's able to get rest. It's normal for the first pregnancy to take 16 hours or more. When she wakes up I would like to check her dilation. An hour goes by and Abby wakes. She lets out a little grunt as she tries to readjust herself. "Good morning Dr. Hunt." Abby says with a small smile. "Morning Abby. I hear this sweet girl is giving you a hard time." "Yeah, I still feel like this is off. Like there's too much pain. I don't know, it feels like somethings off." "Abby, if it's alright I would like to check to see how far you are dilated." The doctor checks Abby. "You're only about 5." As the doctor is talking to Abby about her contractions and her pain level Sheila notices that birds are outside her windows looking it. It's not unlikely to see cardinals and blue-jays in February but not to this extent. There's at least 10 birds. As Sheila thinks about the birds Abby lets out a loud scream, then the lights start to flicker. This snaps Sheila out of her thoughts as she holds onto Abby and starts to hum to sooth her. "Is this the worst contraction you've had so far?" Dr. Hunt asks worried. "No doctor. They all have been like this. She will have a few then she will relax. It's been on and off like this since her water broke." Sheila explains. "Is there something wrong?" Abby panics. "No, just normally they aren't this strong. It's fine though. Every pregnancy is different."

Hours 11-16[8am-1pm] Abby has been asleep for an hour now. "Ms Sheila, I can take over if you want to get a little rest. If anything happens I will come and get you." Sheila stands up out of the pool and wraps a towel around her body. "Thank you so much Dr. Hunt. I only need about an hour." Sheila walks to her room to change into dry clothes. As she thumbs through the closet she starts to get worried again. "I need to see if I can get a hold of Emily." As Sheila gets dressed and starts to find her supplies around the room she looks out the window. More animals are showing up. She can see some squirrels in the trees and rabbits hopping around the yard. Next a red fox sits at the base of on of the trees. Sheila notices that there are even a couple of raccoons in the flowerbed. Sheila gathers all she needs and does a soft chant so the doctor wont hear. She waits a few minutes and nothing happens. She tries again and still nothing. Apologizing to the ancestors for being a bother she looks out the window again and sees that it is starting to get darker out like it's going to storm. Sheila walks out of the room and runs to the living room. Abby has just woken up and is screaming in pain. The doctor looks up and says "I was just about to come and get you. She just woke up screaming. Normally contractions come on light and get worse, this was just instant pain." Sheila gets back in the pool behind Abby. She leans against her and whispers softly in her ear. "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala". Abby starts to calm down a little.

Hour 17-birth[5pm-3am] "We have been at this for almost a day. When is she going to get out of me?" Sheila is still behind her lightly chanting "Asinta Mulaf Hinto, Sho Bala" to help with the pain. It's getting to the point where that isn't helping much anymore. As the time ticks by it is not nearly midnight. In just a few minutes it will be the 5th of February. It's to dark outside that you can't see but I can feel the stares of the animals out there. Abby's contractions seem to last longer and that they are getting more painful. Sheila thinks to herself that in times like these she wishes Rudy was here. "I can't stand that man but as long as he takes care of my baby and grand-baby I can tolerate him."

Dr. Hunt checks the dilation once more. "It's almost time to push Abby. I'm going to need you to hold off on pushing right now if you get the urge to do so. We have to get you in a different position and I'm going to need a few things." Sheila points toward the kitchen. "Whatever you might need, I'm sure you can find it in there. Go ahead and help yourself." Dr. Hunts stands and walks toward the kitchen. "I can't do this mom. It's to much." "I know it hurts baby but you can do this. I know you can. Believe me that when you see that baby for the first time you will look back at all this pain and realize it was worth it." A few moments later the doctor returns. "Alright Abby, I'm gonna need you to lean back against Sheila for me and to put your legs up." As Abby begins to move she screams out in pain and the doctor notices the blood in the water. "Alright Abby, I hope you're ready because we need to do this now."

Abby looks at Sheila and then back at the doctor. "I can't do this." "Yes you can. Your mother is with you. I am with you. WE will get through this together." "Alright Abby, I'm gonna need you to give me one big push. Okay?" Abby holds onto Sheila's hands and pushes as hard as she can while letting out a blood curdling scream. "That was so good Abby. I can see the top of the head. She has such dark hair." Abby starts to cry and laughs a little. "Really?" Dr. Hunt says "Yes. Just a few more pushes and you will be able to see for yourself." Abby braces herself again and takes a deep breath. "Abby, this time I want you to push as hard as you can. Okay?" Abby shakes her head in agreement. This time Abby pushes with all that she has. The doctor is telling her how she needs to push a little more. "Alright Abby, I need you to stop pushing for me." "I can't Dr. Hunt. I need to get her out. I can feel that something is wrong. I need her out now." The Doctor looks up at Sheila then back down to Abby. "The cord is wrapped around her neck. I need you to stop pushing so I can unwrap it. Okay." Abby looks up at Sheila crying her eyes out and slowly nods her head. The doctor is trying her best to untangle the cord. "Okay. I need one last push." Abby braces herself for the final push that will bring her baby into this world. Abby gives it her all and the next thing you know... "Alright the baby's out." Sheila hugs Abby. "You did such a great job." Abby smiles "Let me see her." As the doctor removes the baby from the water she notices something odd. There appears to be a stream of water that is following the baby. The further she moves the baby, the longer the stream becomes. Dr Hunt turns around so her back is facing Sheila and Abby. "Give me a minute." The doctor has the baby face down in her arms rubbing its back. She flips the baby around once more and starts to rub on it's chest above it's heart. Finally the baby starts to cry. As soon as the baby screams the stream of water blows up everywhere. The house shakes like there's a minor earthquake and all of the plants in the house have blossomed. There is one bright flash outside and Sheila has noticed now that her entire house is surrounded by animals to witness this great birth.

As Dr. Hunt starts to hand the baby to Abby "Congratulations on your new baby boy"
