Diego woke up in the morning, feeling the warmth of Maya nestled in his arms. The soft rays of the early sun filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. He smiled to himself, savoring the quiet moment. Maya stirred slightly, her head resting comfortably on his chest, and Diego couldn't help but feel a surge of affection for her.
The events of the previous night played through his mind. Now, as he lay there with Maya still sleeping soundly beside him, he felt a deep sense of contentment. He gently brushed a strand of hair from her face, causing her to stir and slowly open her eyes. She looked up at him, a sleepy smile spreading across her lips.
"Morning," she murmured, her voice still thick with sleep.
"Morning," he replied softly, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
She snuggled closer, sighing contentedly. "Did you sleep well?"
"Better than ever," he said, tightening his arms around her. "How about you?"
She nodded, her eyes fluttering closed again. "Mmm, yes. Very well."
They lay there for a few more moments, enjoying the peace and quiet. Eventually, Maya sat up, stretching her arms above her head. "We should probably get up," she said, though she didn't sound particularly eager to move.
Diego groaned playfully, pulling her back down beside him. "Five more minutes," he pleaded, nuzzling her neck.
She laughed, the sound light and melodious. "Okay, five more minutes," she agreed, resting her head on his shoulder.
Eventually, they did get up, the day calling them to their respective responsibilities.
Maya stretched and sat up, glancing at the clock. "We should get up. Are you hungry?"
Diego nodded, "Yeah, I could eat. What about you?"
"Starving," she said with a grin. She climbed out of bed, heading towards the kitchen. "Let's see what you have, and I'll make us something."
Diego followed her, watching as she inspected his pantry. She found some eggs, vegetables, and a few other ingredients. Putting on an apron, she began to cook.
"Need any help?" he asked, stepping up beside her.
"Sure, you can chop these vegetables," she said, handing him a knife and a cutting board.
They worked together, chatting and laughing as they prepared the meal. Maya's skill in the kitchen was evident, and Diego enjoyed being her sous-chef. The aroma of the food filled the kitchen, making his stomach growl in anticipation. Soon, they sat down to a delicious breakfast of Spanish omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice.
Diego quickly finished his breakfast, savoring the delicious flavors that Maya had expertly crafted. He glanced at the clock, realizing that time was ticking away.
"Maya, we should get going. Don't want you to be late for your classes," he said, standing up and starting to clear the dishes.
Maya nodded, finishing her last bite. "You're right. I need to head up in my apartment to grab my things."
They went to her apartment and She quickly gathered her books and bag. The drive to the university was filled with light conversation and laughter, the morning's warmth extending into their journey.
As they pulled up to the university, Maya turned to Diego with a smile. "Thanks for breakfast and the ride, Diego. I'll see you later?"
"Of course," Diego replied, leaning over to give her a quick kiss. "Have a great day, and good luck with your classes."
