Chapter 27

It had been late in the evening when the others had returned from the hospital. Taehyung was suffering from a second degree burn wound on his back after his encounter with the fireworks in the park, so his back was bandaged with special kind of bandages and had received a prescription for burn wound creme he would need to use multiple times a day. But despite the wound looking like a disaster right now with a big blister in the middle, the doctor was positive that it wouldn't leave a scar in the end. And if even it did scar a little bit, he could receive treatment to remove the scar tissue completely.

It had been a huge relief for everyone, because the group was fearing that Taehyung would be scared for the rest of his life, just because some not-properly-raised kids decided to throw fireworks at him and Jungkook. And speaking of the latter, they seriously hoped that Jungkook wouldn't be traumatized for the rest of his life after the incident. Even though he didn't seem bothered by the bruises that were covering his arms and legs, they feared that he was affected mentally since he was already prone to anxiety and trauma related panic attacks.

"Here Jungkookie, your apple juice" Seokjin said as he gave his baby brother a sippy cup. He had put some Tylenol in his drink just to be sure, because even though it looked like Jungkook wasn't in any pain, it wasn't 100% guaranteed that he wasn't. And just like always, Jungkook took the cup with both his hands and started to drink from it with big gulps.

"Are you sure that you're okay to perform tomorrow night, Taehyung?" Hoseok asked from the other side of the table where Taehyung was sitting. He had been eyeing their second youngest the whole time during breakfast and he could clearly see that the boy was struggling to sit in his chair. Every time he sat back to lean against the backrest, he winced and sat up more straight, which wasn't like him. He and Jimin were known to never sit straight on chairs, so his back constantly reminded him that he couldn't fold himself like he usually does. And even though the accident happened less than 24 hours ago, the injury was already annoying him endlessly.

"I'm okay, I promise. It only hurts when something is touching the wound or if I move my back too much"

"We're lucky that the next show is tomorrow and not today so we can see what works for you and what not during rehearsals" Namjoon said after he put away his phone on the table. Just like with Seokjin's quarantine, his and Sejin's phones were buzzing and ringing nonstop because they had to arrange a lot of last-minute changes so their tour could go on and still be a success.

"Any news of the police yet?" Yoongi asked

Sejin sighed and shook his head, while petting Jungkook's hair who continued to drink happily from his drink. "No... They said that they had added our statement in their file, but they can't do much right now since there's not enough evidence" \

"Not enough evidence? Did they see Tae's back?!" Jimin shouted across the table, causing Jungkook's eyes to widen at the raised voice and stopped drinking to look at his hyung in shock. Thankfully, Seokjin had noticed his response and quickly gathered his baby brother in his lap and placed the cup in front of his lips again to motivate him to continue as if nothing had happened.

"I have showed them the photos of course but they said that they couldn't prove if the incident was intentionally or not" the manager explained "But they said they were going to place cameras in the park to monitor the situation. If it was intentional, the chances are big that the kids will return and try something again"

"So they're going to wait until another kid gets injured before they do something about it?" The oldest maknae couldn't believe his ears and was fuming from the inside. Jimin rarely got angry, but when he did, he looked like he could murder someone. And it truly did look like he could kill right now.
