The Syung Mi Estate was a stunning property encircled by large-scale picture windows that truly showcased the home's contemporary beauty every season. As Yoon arrived at the home's landing, he was greeted by the enchanting sight of snow blanketing the landscape, the air was fresh and crisp. Security awaited with an umbrella to escort him to the entrance, where the winter-dressed trees added to the estate's charm.
He waited in the foyer, a space that remained largely unchanged over 11 years, still graced by fresh flowers on its podiums, until she was informed of his arrival. Moments later Syung Mi appeared smiling to greet him.
"Hi Yoon," she said, recalling the tall and handsome man he truly was. "Hi," he replied as he handed her the pastries. "You remember?" she asked, smiling up at his striking eyes.
"I do," he responded, following her to the sitting room where a fire was crackling and wine awaited on the table. "Have a seat," she invited, as Yoon surveyed the room that captured the quintessential winter mood for their conversation.
"So, how was your day?" she asked, lightening the mood a little. He laughed, realizing she was as nervous as he was. "It was great, and yours?" he inquired, taking the wine glass from her hand.
"It was a busy day, filled with meetings and reviews for our new line," she replied, sipping her wine.
"I met with Park Cho Hee this evening; she mentioned she had contacted you. I wanted to ensure she hadn't upset you, and I felt we needed to discuss our situation," Yoon said, gazing at her.
"Oh. she did reach out to me and requested a meeting today she wanted to know how you were when she could not reach you. So you know why she came to Seoul?" Syung Mi asked, eager to hear about the outcome.
"Yes!" Yoon was done with small talk.
"So, what do you want to discuss? You seem anxious about something," Yoon interjected, preventing her from pretending there was no issue between them.
"Syung, don't do that! You know why I'm here. It's been six months, and you haven't called or contacted me so we can work through everything that has happened."
Syung Mi found herself cornered with no other option, but to confess her truth about why she stayed away for so long. "I'm not sure how to apologize for all these years, for the actions of my father and Lee Bo Va that have impacted your life, especially after you returned home. I feel responsible," she admitted, providing Yoon with the first insight into her reasons. Yoon stepped closer to her, aiming to make the conversation intimate and non-threatening.
