Planning and Threats

Horror furrowed his brows. He's never heard of a black apple, let alone if his boss had one. Maybe it was just Night asking for a new recipe, but the look he was giving him was one of genuine interest. He must be talking about an actual black apple. "No..?? I don't know.." He admits, his thumbs rubbing the back of Night's hands.

"Perhaps he has one hidden in his office, or his room." Horror stiffened, he could tell where this was going. Night looked towards the door with a hum, then back at Horror. "Could you find out for me?"

It had to be one of the stupidest requests from Night. He wants him to sneak into Shattered's room of all places. If the larger was so much as breathes near his office without a reason he would be punished on the spot. Horror pressed his mouth to a thin line. He was uncertain about this request and he isn't sure he wants to go through with it. "I dunno... I don't want to.. get in trouble again... no one is allowed in the boss' room."

"Ah, that is troublesome. What about when they go on a mission. I know that he doesn't take you out on those, so maybe you could go while they're out." Night suggested. He could sense the hesitation in Horror and he knew it was out of fear. He didn't want to put Horror at risk again, but he really wanted to find out. He remembers Shattered threatening to force him to eat one if he never behaved, but he doesn't know if he was bluffing. If there was an apple in Shattered's office, then maybe he could use it.

"..I just...I don't know......I'm not the stealthiest....skeleton here..." Horror trailed off, his gaze distant.

Night lifted his hand to cup Horror's cheek, making the larger skeleton look at him. "But you are very aware of your surroundings," he continued, "and if something were to go wrong, I know you are more than capable of kicking their ass." His free hand slid up Horror's arm to his shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze, making the other blush. "I also had another thought but it's far too risky and I don't want to put you in more danger."

"What's your idea...?"

"I was going to ask if I could join you. If the others are gone on a mission, surely they wouldn't notice if you were to take me out of this cell for a few minutes."

Horror let out a hum. While it was a good idea, the odds of another skeleton being left at the castle was high enough that Horror didn't want to risk it. "The odds of another staying...is too high..don't want ya to be caught.."

Night gave Horror a soft smile and leaned forward, pressing a kiss to his cheek. "Always putting others before yourself. Remind me again how you managed to be a part of this team?"

Horror shrugged and let out a chuff. He knew the answer to why he was here, and it wasn't exactly the reason why he wanted to be here in the first place. He gently placed his hands on Night's waist and nuzzled him. "Dunno..."

"Liar." Night chuckled and nuzzled the larger back. "You should probably head back. I don't want them to come looking for you." Horror nodded and moved his hands, allowing Night to move off his lap so he could stand up. Night let out a quiet pained noise as he sat back down on the hard rock, wincing slightly. Horror got to his feet and picked up the tray, heading back to the cell door. "Horror." The larger turned back to Night, blinking at him. "...be careful."

Horror gave him a nod before leaving the cell, locking the door behind him. Night sighed out and curled up, leaning against the wall. He really loved having Horror around, and he was so happy the larger stuck around for as long as he did. The prince just hoped that he didn't put Horror's life in danger.

The next morning, Horror prepared breakfast and waited for everyone to come to the table. He was setting the last of the dishes down when Killer walked in. Horror glanced over at the skeleton, raising a brow. Killer was usually one of the last to show up, this was a first for him. The black-teared skeleton walked up to him, which was another first for Horror. The larger took a hesitant step back, not sure what was about to come from this.
