57: Gusion and Gaylen

The following morning, Gusion went back to the Vance compound with Alucard as soon as the sun was at its peak. They wore the same disguise and did the same thing the day before, but this time, Alucard rang the doorbell and asked for Lesley. Fredrinn answered the intercom and recognized Alucard after viewing the camera. Uh... Good morning, sir. Is Lesley there? Fred looked at Lesley over the but she was on a phone call with Armin. He pressed the intercom and responded, Yeah, I'll just tell her you're here... again.

Alucard can't help but feel intimidated by Fred's presence. He walked back to the driver's seat and looked at Gusion, Lesley's man is really intimidating. By just listening to him, he gets me off guard. He said with frustration. Gusion agreed by just nodding, Big voice, a big body. He has the means to protect Lesley and Gale, maybe that's why she chose him.

Fredrinn approached Lesley and gave her a signal that Gusion and Alucard were there. Her eyes widened and she complained silently what?! I'm sorry, Armin. Something came up, I'll call you back later, okay?  Then she hung up. Seriously, Fred??? He just gave Lesley a smirk and left her by the door. She marched to the gate only to be greeted by Gusion and Alucard who were again under disguise.

Hi, Lesley. Gusion timidly greeted. He was wearing a hoodie, cap, and sunglasses to hide his identity from the public. Hi, Gusion, Alucard. What brought you here..... again? She asked calmly. Gusion was too shy and stunned to speak upon seeing Lesley because she was still wearing her silk sleeveless sleepwear and pajamas, and the last time that he saw her wearing one was 5 years ago when they covered up for him, or when they slept together.

We... We just wanted to visit Gale, and Al wanted to meet her. Gusion explained. I wanted to meet my godchild too, Les. Lesley raised both of her eyebrows and just stared at Alucard, trying to absorb that he volunteered himself to be Gale's godfather. Then she looked at Gusion, still speechless, but they clearly understood what she meant by the way she stared at them.

I won't take no for an answer, Les. She's Gusion's child and we promised that we'll be the godfather of one another's children. Alucard said cheekily. Lesley sighed and rolled her eyes. She's asleep with my mom, just come back later. 

Gusion and Alucard looked at each other, It's okay, we can wa--- Gusion paused because he felt something familiar, and unfamiliar at the same time. Lesley, are there any other Paxleys here today, apart from Gale?

Lesley felt tensed, No. Why?

I can feel Gale's Paxley presence, but I can also feel unfamiliar magic. Gusion explained. Gusion, my adoptive parents and Harley are your kind. Mom is a healer, dad and Harley are mages, and they were fooling around with their magics.

Gotcha. Gusion said at the back of his mind. He knew that Lesley was lying and she didn't want them to see Gale. But he still wanted to be close to them just in case his speculations about the other Paxley roaming around the area might be correct. but it was only Gale and Harley playing with their magical powers.

Do you mind if we guard the place in the meantime? Gusion suggested. Hesitation could be seen all over Lesley's face.

Yes, and I don't think it's necessary, we could pretty much handle ourselves. But thanks for your concern. You may leave.

I think it's best if you allow us, Les. You, yourself is a VIP. You wouldn't want to end up in the news that Layne Rosa Stellaris was ambushed in the Vance compound, right? Not to mention you're a member of the Vance family. We need to protect Gale too, you know. Alucard backed up Gusion's suggestion.
