Autumns POV
I walk up to the main house where Miranda lives. And knock on the door."Coming!" I hear from the other side of the door. Miranda opens the door with a smile and then it turns to concern when she realizes it's me. "Autumn?" I perk my lips and wave awkwardly. She steps to the side and allows me inside.
She closes the door and grabs my shoulders and uses her hand to search my face that I'm sure is covered in bruises. I didn't bother looking at myself when I ran out of the house and called the Uber here.
"Are you ok?" Those 3 words can really do a number on someone who just wants to actually be ok.
I shake my head and tears begin to flood my eyes and I start shaking. Miranda immediately pulls me into her chest for a full embrace.
"It's ok. It's ok. You're going to be ok. You're safe here." She says walking us to the couch in her living room.I can see where Ava gets her caring nature from. She was really sweet last night. Which I honestly didn't expect. She seems like a player honestly. I don't want to say hoe because she's allowed to fuck whoever she wants. It's her body. But she definitely doesn't do relationships. Which sucks because she is cute.
Wait. Stop. I shouldn't be thinking about my boss's daughter like that. My boss's grown daughter. Who looks like she knows how to f-"Do you need anything?" Miranda says, causing me to shake the inappropriate thoughts out of my head.
"Umm not that I know of. Ava said we're going to go to the mall to get me more clothes for the week."
Miranda smiles and nods. "Ok good. How'd you sleep?"
"Good. I haven't slept that well in a long time, Miranda."
she smiles. "That bed will make you feel like you're on cloud nine." She laughs but I tilt my head in confusion.
"I didn't sleep in the bed. I slept on the couch. Still comfy though."
Her smile seemed to disappear just as fast as it came. "She did what?"
The door opens just before I can say anything revealing Ava in tan cargo pants and a black graphic tshirt with the black rings she had on yesterday. Lord those rings bring so much attention to her hands and long fingers that I wouldn't mind being inside of my -
"You had her sleep on the couch?!" Miranda screams causing Ava to throw her hands up.
"She could barely walk ma I wasn't gonna let her try to climb those stairs". Ava says with a pout. Miranda walks away and goes into what I believe is the kitchen leaving me and Ava alone.
Ava turns to me with a smile. "I'm sorry about that. She gets really upset when guests aren't treated right. You were comfortable on the couch right?" She asks, giving me a cute pout like a child getting in trouble.
"Yes I was actually. Thank you seriously." I say standing up to try to match her eyes but I only meet her chest and raise my neck up to her. I'm 5'5 so she has to be at least 5'10.
She's looking at me the same way she did last night when she put me down from the counter. It's soft and yet unreadable. It's cute.
"Are you ready to go to the mall? I want to get there before the parking garage gets too full." I nod and walk behind her to leave the house and to her car.
I go to open the door and it locks on me. I look up to see Ava walking towards the passenger side with her thumb on the lock on her keys.
She grabs my hand and guides it carefully to my side and grabs the door handle then unlocks it to open the door. "After you." She says holding the door. I tilt my head confused.
Did she purposely lock the door just to open it for me? I chuckle and sit in the car as the door closes behind me in amazement.
