Autumns POV

It's quiet in the car as I stare out the window and Liz takes me home.

"V is an idiot. I don't know why she would even think that shit was ok. I'm sorry Autumn." Liz said gripping the steering wheel.

"It's whatever. I should've just kept my distance from her. They were right."

"Who?" Liz asked looking at me when we stopped at a red light.

"Miranda and Maya. They both put it in our heads that we'd hurt each other. We should've waited or just never tried at all."

Liz pulls up to the house but doesn't unlock the door for me to get out. I looked at her confused. "You don't believe that though right? I know I don't. You guys are perfect together."

I shake my head. "I don't need that delusion. I have to focus up for my trial."

"You don't even know her answer Autumn. What if she stays?"

I shrug. "Why should it matter? She so stuck in her own trauma and hoeish ways she doesn't even actually want ti try with me."

"How do you know she doesn't want ti try? One thing I know about Ava is that she'll do anything for the people she care about. Especially the people she loves."

That's word made me look at her in her eyes. "Ava loves me?"

She shrugged. "That's not my business to tell. But I can see it. We all can. Well you know. Not everyone." She laughs.

"Yeah well, why didn't she trust me enough with something like this? You don't keep moving across the country away from someone you love. She even kept it from Miranda!"

She nodded. "Yeah that was shocking but understandable." I looked at her confused. "Miranda is very persuasive but she's also very supportive of Ava's profession. She would want her to reach higher limits. She can see how client art is becoming exhausting on Ava. She's not enjoying as much as she used to. She just does it to donate to her dads chairity. Which she loves doing but her dad wouldn't want her doing that if she doesn't love doing what she loves, which is the art."

I nodded. "So Miranda would tell her to go?"

"Yeah. But apparently she's been holding out for 6 months because she had no reason to go. She mainly don't want to go alone. Miranda isn't going to leave California. There's still too many people in need of a credible lawyer here. My company is out here and the market in New York is that high for me to go. Marcus said he would go so long as he can find good clientele there but hasn't found any so far so he's sticking to building his studio here."

"And Maya?" I didn't mean to be rude to her at dinner I was just upset how she has so much influence in Ava's life. But I can't be like that. They are still friends. They also haven't had sex. I know because Maya assured me the last time they did was the day before I came to stay with Miranda and Ava. They're strictly friends.

"Maya wouldn't go either. Her dad passed his business down to her. As stressful it is she loves it. So unless they expand she's rooted here." Liz reassures.

"So what would make her go?" I asked. I have a feeling what the answer will be I need to hear it from someone who knows her best.

Liz looked at me with a knowing look. "I'll let you get inside. I'll be at your trial Monday. Love you."

I get out the car and head inside the house to be greeted with silence. "Miranda must still be at the office. She works way too hard." I head up stairs and shower.

Would she go if I went with her? Would I really even make a difference? She should go. Did she already take the offer?

My questions were unanswered and got out of the shower and laid in bed. "I'll talk to her tomorrow."
