Autumn POV

Why are they so close? Is what I thought when I saw Maya with her hand on Ava's cheek as they talked. They're all close like family but Maya and Ava just seem too close. I'll ask later nows not the time and I'm acting like some jealous girlfriend.

We all get in Marcus Jeep to go back to the diner to go home in our own cars.

We made it to Ava's car and as always she held the door open for me. As cute as it is, I'm still thinking about Maya and her. So I just get in without saying anything.

She gets in the car and before she starts it she turns in her seat to look at me. I try my best to not look at her but it's hard when she's just staring at the side of my head. And honestly after not being able to see her during brunch I was kinda missing her eyes.

I turned my head and met her eyes that were filled with confusion. "Yes?"

"What's wrong? You usually say thank you when I open your door." She said with a whine.

Oh my god, why is she so cute? "What's up with you and Maya?" I blurted out. Her eyes went wide and then even more confusion.

"Uh nothing that I'm aware of. Why do you ask?" She asked seriously. I can tell she's genuinely confused.

"You guys are really close. She has a key to your house and the main house, you sat next to her during brunch and then back at the studio, you talked privately then she hand held your face. You guys are all really close. It's obvious you guys are like family but you two are REALLY close. And I know it sounds crazy for me to even bring it up because I sound jealous but genuinely I'm just curious to know the dynamic there." I said and then took a breath.

She had a smile on her face after I got my breath. "We were together for 4 years. All throughout our time in college and then we broke up 2 years ago. We are still friends but we do occasionally sleep together." That part hurt to hear. But I guess it makes sense. "But we don't feel the same way as before. The breakup was messy and honestly we almost weren't friends at least that's what I thought but she was still there after my dad died. Which is why we ended up breaking up. That's another story though she might tell you." She smiled with a shrug.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I said feeling stupid for even being upset. Yeah it sucks they still sleep together but I can't really be mad about that they're both single and I guess it's the best alternative then sleeping with random people. Even though I'm sure they both do that as well. I don't need to know that. I didn't even need to know they were. Ugh I feel so stupid.

"Is that all?" She asked, still looking at me hoping her answer didn't upset me.

I nodded. "Yeah I'm sorry. I was just curious." I gave a fake smile.

"Well that's fine. At Least you didn't slap me like Liz did when she found out." She said laughing as she started the car and pulled off.

I laughed. "Why did she slap you?"

"She said in her words 'it was reflex' don't say stupid shit then expect not to get slapped'" she laughed again.

I shook my head laughing. "So what happens when you guys get in relationships?"

Her laugh died. "Well I for one don't really see myself getting in a relationship right now." Ouch. As if she could sense my discomfort she looks at me and then shakes her head. "Not that I'm opposed to relationships. I'm just not exactly emotionally stable right now."

"And Maya?"

"She's just as busy and emotionally unavailable as me. She's a lawyer and running her dad's business all at the age of 24. But I think the right person will find her. She's an amazing woman." She said with a slight smile.
