Autumns POV
"I'm just not understanding why they had to go alone and just so randomly. I mean we were literally arguing and she hops on the next flight to fucking Paris!" I say pacing inftomt of Liz and Marcus.
Marcus is eating cereal and playing Madden on his phone. And Liz is trying to calm me down. It's not that I'm mad, I'm actually worried. Like why did they leave so sudden.
"Maya knows what she's doing Autumn. If they're in Paris it has something to do with V's dad." My brows furrowed in confusion. "His grave sites there. He's French and though he lived majority of his life here in California, they had their best memories in Paris. V never went to his funeral and if I'm not mistaken it might be the first time she's even seen his resting place. She paid for it but just couldn't find herself to do it. If Maya took her there it had to be big. And it might have something to do with you."
My eyes widened. "Me?! You think our fight caused her to go to Paris the literal city of love. What if she finds someone else?"
Marcus looked up from his phone with a &bored look. "In 24 hours. Jeez girl who do you think my best friend is? She loves you ain't nobody else." Liz hit his head. "What the fuck was that for?" He said rubbing his head.
"V should be the one that tells her she's loves Autumn. Not you dick." Liz says. I laugh at the two bicker. I swear if Liz doesn't just confess her feelings for him I might die.
"Well then I guess you just have to wait for like Sunday to find out." Marcus says going back to his phone.
"Don't worry. They'll be back in time for your trial." I nodded. Still nervous about that and now I'm worried about Ava. Hoping I didn't drive her away.
"Aye I gotta go. I meeting up with Kayla at my studio. We gotta talk about something very important." Marcus says putting his bowl in the sink to rinse it out and then hugged me and kissed Liz on the cheek. I could see her face turning more red my the second.
"He's an idiot." She says putting her head in her hands.
"Do you think he's going to ask her to be official?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
She shook her head and then shrugged. "I don't know. They seem to be getting really close. I've never seen him this happy before."
"I have." I said with a shrug and then left the kitchen.
Sunday
Ava POV"Once we get back we're going to your house so you can talk to Miranda. There's no reason she doesn't know about New York Ava." Maya said as we're getting settled on the jet going back to California. This visit was much needed. I know I should've been came. Shit i should have been at the funeral. I just couldn't. I wasn't strong. Not like Autumn. That woman has been through hell and she pushes through. I guess no one could see that not even me until now. There's nothing stopping from loving that woman. Well unless she decides to not love me back. Shit what if she doesn't love me back. I didn't think about that! Mind turn off.
"Is that understood Avalyn?" Maya yells waving her hand in my face.
I shook out of my thoughts. "Yes. Understood I will tell her." Tell who what? Tell my mom about New York or Autumn that I love her. Shit.
"Get some sleep." Maya said with her laptop glowing on her face. This woman never stops working I swear.
"You too." I say getting her attention and nodding towards her laptop.
"Ugh fine." She rolled her eyes before putting her laptop in its bag and leaning her chair all the way back to sleep. I did the same and sleep instantly took over.
California 12 hours later
"V wake up. We're home." I heard Mayas voice and opened my eyes. I nodded and was getting ready to get off the plane but realized I was in the passenger seat of her car. How in the f-
"I forgot you are a heavy sleeper on flights. I would hate to be in an emergency with you." Maya said."How did I get in the car? I know you didn't care me." I said with confusion still on my face.
Maya rolled her eyes. "Mateo put you in. He's taking the jet to Costa Rica and I told him the only way for him to go was to get you off the plane and he did." Mateo is Mayas brother. He's a private investigator and does security for their dads company. He's also a playboy. So he goes country to country just to pick up girls. He's the one that taught us all to shoot even though only Marcus and I actually carry, Maya and Liz still have them just at home."Fair trade. I guess. Let's go." I say getting out the car before stretching and walking into the house. I'm met with my mom on the living room couch watching her telanovela. "Hey ma."
She shot up and walked to give me a hug. This was a tighter hug then usual. "Oh mija. How'd it go?" She asked and I knew what she was referring to.
I nodded. "It was great ma. I didn't realize how much I needed to do that." Tears started filling her eyes. And one slipped out. "I'm sorry I didn't go to the funeral. I should've been there for you."
She shook her head and grabbed my face. So this is where she gets it from. "I knew you were hurting and I knew you weren't ready for that truth. I love you and I'm proud of you and I know Gabriel is too." She smiled giving my cheek a kiss.
"I'm going to head home. I'm very much jet lagged and I might pass out on your floor Miranda." Maya said giving us hugs and walking out leaving me to talk to my mom.
"I need to talk to you about something Ma. It's important." She nodded and we walked into the kitchen and she sat on a stool as I stood on the other side of the island. I took a deep breath and told her about New York and the gallery. She was pissed I kept it from her for so long but glad I finally told her and not after I made my decision.
"So what are you going to do?" She asked.
"I need to talk to Autumn."
