She sat at the edge of the rock,
among sea foam that floated about,
her eyes icy blue and piercing,
her lips rosy pink and smiling.

Her hair, crimson in tone, was
wavy like the great ocean;
her necklace of pearls, aglow
against her flawless snow skin.

Her eyes stare far ahead, past
the waves of the great ocean,
at a ship among them, sailing
for the island behind her.

Her gaze, glowing under starlight,
watch with unprecedented admiration,
as the ship drew closer and closer
to her with graceful strides ahead.

The ship was alight with firecrackers,
bustling with happy humans all
about, upbeat music and cheery chatting growing louder and louder.

The ship was alight with utter joy,
the people on it glowing with delight,
its motion slow and smooth as it
gracefully faced wave after wave ahead.

As she watched on, a sudden crackle
of thunder sounded at a distance,
then came another roar of rage with
azure veins flashing in the dark sky.

The waves of the sea grew with haste,
each one more restless than the other,
washing up against the wooden mast
with more vigour than just prior.

She watched with bubbling excitement
how the ship swayed dangerously,
tipping left and right like a drunkard
with little control over its course.

The ship was now brimming with shock,
bustling with confused humans all
about, music dying down and panicked screams growing louder and louder.

The ship was now filled with utter fear,
the people on it dimming with dread,
its motion fast and rocky as it
struggled with wave after wave ahead.

Just then, a wave grew from afar,
larger and darker than its predecessors,
seeming to sprint through the ocean with
its raging eyes locked on the ship.

In an instant, it struck the mast,
a deafening collision silencing the air
as the unsteady ship toppled over
and threw its passengers overboard.

The air was now filled with screams,
fear and dread and vexatious tangible
as the humans gasped for air
and flapped themselves about.

Her icy eyes flashed with glee,
her grin widening as she stared on,
her crimson locks fluttering about,
her hidden fangs growing out longer.

And just then, amongst the splashes
and screams and sobs and sorrow,
came a sound so majestic yet eerie,
that it rendered the disaster quiescent.

A voice, sweet like forest honey;
a sound, warm like golden sunlight;
a melody, alluring like stunning stars;
a song, soulful like an Angel.

She sang aloud, her eyes glowing icy,
her hair glimmering a deep crimson,
her skin sparkling like silver,
and her fangs twinkling pearls.

Her eyes captivated the frightened folk;
her hair mesmerised them instantly;
her voice beckoned them closer,
while her fangs went unnoticed.

A sudden urge to near her grew,
and a strong tug pulled them forward,
the eyes of the panicked people turning
dull with every melody they heard.

They couldn't blink, couldn't speak,
couldn't scream, couldn't breathe,
as their arms propelled them through
the freezing waters, all to get closer.

The redhead on the boulder sang,
her smile eerily wide and perfect,
her eyes glowing like vibrant gems,
and her jaw unhinged for her fangs.

And all the people saw last,
was her beautiful form change,
from a maiden handcrafted by God,
to a demon chiselled out of Hell's rocks.

She continued to sit at the edge of the rock, among sea foam that floated about,
her eyes icy blue and piercing,
her lips rosy pink and smiling.

Her hair, crimson in tone, was
still wavy like the great ocean;
her necklace of pearls, aglow
against her flawless snow skin.

And blood swirling about the water,
mutilated bodies floating about;
a murky cesspool of ghastly death
surrounding her angelic being.

Her voice remains a harbinger of fall,
her eyes remain an omen of demise,
her hair remain a sight before death,
her fangs remain the nail in one's coffin.
And her presence, the call of the sea.
