Stevie decided to skip the pool that afternoon and head right to the spa, trying her best to calm herself down after she literally ran right into her daughter... the same girl that she had thought about every single day for the last twenty years, but had no sort of relationship with.

However, even though she had tried to drink the thought away with a few mimosas and then a much needed massage- she couldn't stop replaying that moment in her mind.

Out of all the places in the world, what were the odds that they would end up on the same island, the same resort at the same time...? It seemed like a one in a million chance and even though she tried to chalk it up to coincidence, she couldn't help but think that maybe it was fate.

Was the universe bringing them back together...?

She wasn't sure, but she knew that she needed to see her again... even if it was in passing, she just really wanted to see her face.

She had written to her every birthday, every Christmas, her first day of kindergarten, her prom, her graduation- everything in between. Any moment in time that was even slightly important, Stevie sent her a card, even though Penelope had no idea, and when she wasn't busy celebrating her child's accomplishments from afar, she was trying to picture exactly what she looked like.

So, even though Penny wasn't that fascinated in her mom, her mom was definitely fascinated with her and her life.

"There you are." Holly gave her a sweet smile the moment she caught up with Stevie, who had found herself back at the bar. "Dad and I wondered where you ran off to." She added with a soft laugh.

Picking her screwdriver up off the bar top, the blonde returned the faint smile. "I needed some alone time, but I'm definitely ready to go hang out at the pool now." She added with a little shrug of her shoulders, really trying her hardest not to act as though something was eating away at her, even though it was.

"Dad went to take a nap and Macy is at the coffee shop, so it's just us." Holly mentioned, trailing along side the blonde as they headed through the resort.

She was a little more open to Stevie being their step mom than her sister was. She was a few years older and understood that there was no way that their parents would ever get back together, unlike Macy, who insisted that if Stevie hadn't stepped in, Dan would be back with his ex wife... That really made it difficult for everyone.

"Sounds good," Stevie nodded her head, a soft sigh escaping her when they stepped outside, where the warm air hit their skin and the sun was high in the sky.

It wasn't long until they were sitting side by side in sun beds, both them under a pool umbrella with glasses resting over their eyes, sunscreen caked on their arms, while they relaxed... Well, one of them was relaxed and the other was busy watching her surroundings, trying to pinpoint her daughter once more.

However, by the time the sun was beginning to set, Stevie had started to think that she was just imagining her... Maybe that wasn't Penny after all. Maybe it was just some girl and she was just so caught up in the fact that it was just her birthday a few days prior that it made her think she'd run into her.

She wasn't sure, but she was about to push herself up to head back to the room when that laugh filled the air around her... That contagious laugh that she'd heard flooding the hallway when Penny had bumped into her.

And there she was, trailing through the glass doors of the resort with a towel in one hand and a martini glass in the other.

Beautiful might have been understatement- Penny was absolutely stunning. She had long blonde hair that hit right above her waist, big brown eyes, a button nose, high cheekbones and the sweetest smile... Stevie thought she was totally perfect, but she always had.

"Oh my gosh." She whispered, creasing a brow when her eyes wandered over to Lindsey, who was close behind their daughter. "Shit." She quickly reached out, grabbing her fan off the stand and flipping it open to shield her face as she sank as far back in the sun bed as she could.

Stevie waited until they had both taken a seat across the pool before she slowly began to slip off the sun bed, keeping her sunglasses on and her fan in hand, trying to pretend like she was blocking the sun that had already gone down.

"I have a headache." She announced, suddenly feeling incredibly sick to her stomach.

Creasing a brow, Holly sat up slowly to make sure Stevie was okay. "Are you alright?" She wondered, not sure what had just happened... Stevie seemed fine a few minutes ago.

Nodding her head, she held up a hand to silently assure her that she didn't need to get up as well. "I'll be okay." She said in a soft tone of voice as she started to collect her things to head back to her room. "And I'll see you in the morning." She added, wiggling her fingers to bid a farewell.

After that, she hurried back to her suite, hoping that Dan was still asleep or maybe even off to do his own thing for the evening... She didn't want to talk, not in the slightest. But of course, with the luck she'd seem to have, he was waiting as soon as she opened the door.

"Hi, babe." His lips turned up as he took his eyes off the television to see her come through the door.

She looked at him for a moment, shoulders dropping as her eyes grew dim. "There's a full moon." She whispered, setting her things on the table before she headed towards the French doors to get to the balcony.

She needed some fresh air- a moment to think and that was the perfect place.

And as she stared up at the moon that she had a million times before, she let out a sigh. "Good night, Penny." She repeated the same thing she did almost every night...

She knew, no matter where they were in this world, they were always looking at the same moon and that made her feel closer to Penelope than anything else ever could.
