Screaming.

Agony.

Blood.

Pain.

Violation.

Guns

I couldn't wake myself up from the horrible nightmare I was having. I couldn't escape it because it actually happened. All that pain and agony, that was reality.

When I finally woke up I felt sore all over. My arms ached, my head was pounding, my legs felt like they were bit by thousands of fire ants.

Why is my body feeling like this?

Oh yeah... I had to physically fight for my life yesterday.

So if I'm not home... then where am I?

Oh yeah... my social worker's house. I now have a social worker now that I have no parents. The only person who they could send me to is my Uncle Erin. If they send me to live with Uncle Erin then I just might have to fight for my life all over again because he's literally insane. He's a horrible drunk who lives off of unemployment money give to him by the government. He's incredibly lazy and unreliable. I really hope that they don't send me to live with Uncle Erin.

Okay enough with the whole negative future vibe. Time to get up and get over with the police interview. I put on the plain white shirt that Cassie gave me last night and the faded blue skinny jeans with real rips in it due to the overuse. I didn't have much clothes to begin with from home so I didn't bring much here with me.

Once I was as decent as I could be I followed the smell of bacon and pancakes downstairs.

"Well good morning Ana! How'd you sleep darlin'?" The giant pearly white grin never seemed to leave Cassie's face.

"I uh... I slept good. And again thank you o much for letting me stay here with you instead of wherever they would have stuck me. I really do appreciate it." I seriously can't thank her enough even though that's all I've been doing since yesterday.

"It's no problem darlin' plus I enjoy having you around since Derek is usually at work. It really is my pleasure to have you here." She turned around to serve a couple of pancakes and bacon onto a plate then sliding it across the table to me. "Go ahead and take a seat and eat up, you've got long day ahead of you with the police so you'll need the energy."

"I'll be sitting out here in the lobby if you need me, okay Ana?" Cassie grabbed me by the shoulders and pulled me in for a tight hug. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm right here."

The tears I was able to hold back earlier were now rolling down my cheeks. I've only had Mr. Cuddles as a friend. No one else cared. No one else was there for me. I had no one but Mr. Cuddles up until Cassie.

"Thank you so much Cassie." If I wanted to stop crying I was going to have to look anywhere but at Cassie or I'd lose it again.

"Ms. Morgan we're just going to ask you a few questions about what happened last night, will that be all right?" Officer Thompson sat across the long desk from me. He looked to be in his late twenties. He was one of those guys that you don't want to mess with just because he gives off that "I'm a man of the military". Guys like that you don't mess with because they are really compassionate about what the do as well as the fact that the have a massive amount if control when it comes to basically all situations. The heard only added to the "don't mess with me" vibe that he gave off.

"That's fine with me." Okay it wasn't really fine with me because it had just happened yesterday and I already have to relive that horrible nightmare.

"You were found in the Dallas apartment of Steven and Linda Morgan, correct?"

I nodded my head because saying a simple yes would probably end up sounding all choked out from the sobs I was holding back.

"Please tell me what happened. Just tell me everything that happened."

"I- uh...." My voice trailed off as the memories came flooding in at once. I couldn't do this alone. "Uhm could I please have my social worker in here with me. I don't think I can go through this alone..."

Officer Thompson mumbled an okay to me then asked the other officer in the room to go and get Cassandra.

Cassandra came in moments later with a worried expression on her face. Then dropped her bag onto the ground and carefully took the seat besides mine.

"I'm here darlin'. Go ahead and tell the officers what happened."

I took a deep breath and exhaled. "This goes back a long time ago because what happened yesterday was just the finale to the life of neglect and abuse I lived..."

The officers intently listened whilst taking notes. Both of their faces held sympathy towards me. Cassie was the one who was covering her mouth, her face held complete mortification along with wet cheeks from the tears.

Hopefully things can only go up from here.
