"Hello sweetie, my name is Helen. Welcome to my home, pardon the mess, we have five other kids living here as well. These two lovely young ladies are my children though. Here's my eldest daughter Lizzy, you two are the same age so I hope that you two can get along." The blond girl glared at me and scoffed. "This is my youngest daughter Abigail. She's fourteen but I hope you two get along as well. And what might your name be darlin'?"

"My name is fa-...I mean... it's Ana ma'am..." Helen smiled and led me into the main room while telling me names of the other kids here and their background stories as to how they got here. Well it looks like I'm not the only one with bad life, which I'm very grateful for so I don't feel so bad about being the daughter of an adulterous alcoholic mother and an abusive drug reliant father.

Which had two big couches and a flat screen. There was a staircase in this room so I'm guessing Helen has the only room on this floor.

Two little boys who didn't look older than ten years old ran down the staircase racing each other to the couch. I'm guessing those were the twins Gabriel and Dylan whose parents were sent to prison for drug trafficking. Despite their past they seemed extremely happy. I wondered if I could ever be this happy.

"Well I'm off to set up dinner, your room is at the top floor dear. I'm sure Lizzy can help you find it." Helen smiled and patted the twin's heads as she passed by.

Can I be happy here? I won't be able to get a fresh start because this foster home is so close to the school I went to before.

I was pulled out of the thoughts when Lizzy shoved into my shoulder. The expression on her face showed how obvious she didn't like me. If looks could kill I'd be a pile of ashes because at the moment, her piercing green eyes were like lasers.

"Watch where you're going dumbass!" With that she tossed her hair over her shoulder and sauntered over to a boy who stared at her with a disgusted expression.

By then I realized Lizzy was supposed to help me find my room.

I guess I'll just ask one of the twins.

Days passed by at a painfully slow rate. I'd stay in my room and only some out to eat. At night I'd cry myself to sleep hoping to just leave all this behind.

It's been a three weeks since I got here and no one other than Helen and the twins have approached. I mean Lizzy keeps doing shit to me whenever I'm in her presence but whatever. I haven't gone back to school yet because Cassie contacted my new school and explained that this isn't something that I can get over easily and school would only upset me further.

Thank God for Helen the saint! She knew that there were no more rooms in the house and once Cassie and Derek contacted her, she set up a room in the attic. She used her own money from her job to make sure the attic was amazing. There's a nice sized TV. mounted on the wall across from my bed which was next to my dresser and across the room from my desk. She also bought a couple of beanbags and got the floors carpeted. Sometimes I feel like Harry Potter because my door is on the second floor but there are steps that lead to my actual living quarters. Yeah I'd definitely prefer this attic turned room than a normal room. Cassie also set up her password to Netflix on the PlayStation in my room.During the day I wouldn't really leave my room unless I was hungry which was usually at night so I could avoid Lizzy.

It was seven o'clock at night and my stomach was telling me it was time to eat. So I made my way to the kitchen only to get shoved to the ground by Lizzy.

"Stay down you ugly freak! Just stay in your room and never come out! No one wants you here. In fact no one would care if we found you dead in your room. So just do us all a favor and go somewhere else!" She ended up screaming at me which only riled her up even more. I was prepared for her to hit me when the boy who looked at Lizzy with disgust the first day I was here walked over to her and grabber her by the wrist.

"Leave her alone" His spoke through his teeth since he was keeping himself from yelling. "If you keep this up Lizzy I'll just have to tell Helen about your little problem."

That got her to take a step back and yank her wrist away. She glared at me one last time before going back upstairs towards her room.

"I'm so sorry about that. I talked to her about leaving you alone so I thought she wasn't bothering you anymore. Oh here let me help you." He extended his hand towards me and helped me get back on my feet. "Hi, my name is Eric."
